I am at work and gonna miss the premier but I am so excited that your doing this and playing FFXIV.
Please please do this for all the main stories in the expansions. I have been looking for a great summary of them. I played 2.0 and Heavensward back when they came out but don’t have the to play MMOs anymore.
"Alphinaud, Minfilia, Cid, and The Warrior all enter the chamber, proving that reports of their demise have been greatly exaggerated." The allusions and alliterations you sprinkle onto these recaps are so entertaining, they're like the cherry on top to the careful planning this all requires.
Well done. This is an easy way to look back compared with doing New Game +. I've been playing since the game released and have forgotten so much of this. You could tell that they weren't entirely sure where they were going as they clumsily pulled themselves from the wreckage of 1.0, but look at what they've grown it into now.

great to see you do this. i hadn't had what i would consider a clean recap of ARR. it's a vital video because most players who want to 'skip the rough early story' could really use this. Do you plan to recapitate the raid content too? each expansion adds an alliance raid, and a standard raid. some contribute greatly to the ongoing story (mostly crystal tower, coils. alexander, omega). unrelated but, recaps like this of entire class quest lines would be very popular! anyway great job as always , love your content.

this is just in time! ive almost got through the slog of arr for the first time and have been skipping the cutscenes from level 20-30 but getting back to watching them again so this is very useful for keeping me filled in with the story :)

Oh wow thank you very much for this! FFXIV is praised to have the best story, but I hate playing an MMORPG, so this is a fantastic way of knowing the story
I am not an MMO player myself, but since I am a big FF fan, I gave this one a shot. And this game gives you so much freedom that I sometimes just forget that I am actually in an MMO. Also, there is a free trail period that gives you the opportunity to play the game till the first expansion without any cost. In other words a great way to try it out and see for yourself!
I enjoyed this video, it's one of the important parts that people don't seem to enjoy to much. You were just some person who rose to greatness, you become the WoL.

I kinda wish the beginning of the game gets reworked like this. Where no matter what job you choose to begin, you will always go to the 3 city states and meet with the Scions in order.
My biggest issue during ARR was connecting with the Scions. They just felt like random stranger to me. And it feels like I got introduced to Lahabrea before getting familiar with Thancred.

Thank you for using a generic-looking Derplander with no job-specific armor for the cutscenes. I've seen too many cutscene archives on YT where the WoL's glamour looks really out of place and really detracts from everything else.

It'd be a lot more work since you'd need to do some serious research and can't just play it normally, but you really should do the 1.0 FFXIV story, since most current FFXIV players know nothing about it apart from the Fall of Dalamud at the end.
