No one declared independence as only their allies would side with them all the other nations would side with the emperor
EU4 but all vanilla vassals are free in 1444
I would have been cool to see Ashikaga form Japan, because every other subject would become free at that point.
They would not have been able to. A requirement for forming Japan is no other country has the Daimyo government type.
@@aeronical there are 2 sets of requirements, one is that, the other one is just to control certain provinces. If they had been able to annex Oda, they would have been able to.

To be free countries must beat Ashikaga + subjects with more than 5000 dev in best time. Ai just too scared to declare war, and they can't expanded too much because they all duchies and have big problem with gov cap.
3:46 not suprising at all. Unless they win an independents war which they will never declare because of the amount of other vassals a nation can never leave to be a daimyo. Even if new nations get released or seepratists break a nation these will also be daimyo vassals as long as all their provinces where previously daimyo land
I actualy saw the shogunate break during testing. Not sure how it happened tho :D

you mean to say that world peace can become a reality if everyone becomes ashikaga's daimyo? somoene call the united nations!
I think part of why we saw the HRE, India and other places consolidate so quickly, don't the diamyos get a special CB called the Sengoku restoration or something? So that probably helped the consolidation
imagine having to do a world conquest in order to break free of your overlord 💀
I think the lack of independence wars has something to do with how the AI chooses war targets - when Daimyo Ottomans are looking at a war vs Ashikaga, they look at their quantity vs the Shogun and all of the other Daimyo combined. The AI will never declare a war at such a huge quantity disadvantage.

16:14 This kinda dawned on me halfway through the video. As far as I know, the only country that can form while being a subject is Prussia, but only if the one forming it is either Brandenburg or Teutons (not counting tributaries, but those aren't really subjects)

some countries have grown so much becouse of the special casus belli for daymio, it gives reduced province cost and less agressive expansion. if everyone got this cassus belli then blobbing is explained, but i dont know why europe was so still.
Can you as a Daimyo even enter a coalition against another Daimyo?

Since they're all subjects, there's no aggressive expansion, since subject nations cant join coalitions. That's why there's so much blobbing in this campaign.
They can and there is aggresive expansion but their special cb reduces it, also having no need for CBs make the AIs go hard, most of the reasons why AIs sometimes doesnt expand is because they lack a cb and dont fabricate it lol
This is how I did the Three mountain achievement back in the day.
Did they all get access to the automatic CB that Daimyos usually have? That might explain the blobbing.

Blobbing is one of the core tenets of bushido apparently.

(This wouldn’t be a switch though, just bringing hre mechanics to India)
That would be impossible as the hre is too hard coded and hardly modifiable (any update would break the mod) and changing the official religion to anything non christian makes the game crash i believe.

I guess AE is no issue as everybody is a fellow Daimyo, so countries can blob real hard.

everyone became so big so quickly because AE was no factor as everyone was subject of ashikaga so no coalitions occured

A lot of states left, but it was still pretty big, if my memory serves me well.
I think with mods like this, you should remove the requirements for independence to create a nation, if at all possible of course.
Who knew that subjugating the world under the shogunate would make the AI competent in creating clean borders
You might have done this already, but what if everybody in 1444 has maximum admin efficiency? For extra blobbing.
What if every provincein the world was all in one trade node?
I honestly have no idea what this would do. Trade power just means something wildly different.
