    This video it's the first out from a 3 episode Off - Road (Gravel) video series with my new 2023 Honda Transalp 750. I did my best to offer you some feedback about riding this new Transalp out in the forest. Hopefully this will be helpfull for someone thinking about riding this bike outside of the tarmac roads.
    Thank you in advance for your understanding regarding my Off-Road beginner skills !
    The second Off-Road section it's located in the Bucegi Mountains, Romania (8CJ6+6V Glod) , close to Bolboci Lake and Cabana Bolboci (8CRG+H6 Glod) .
    On top it's called Podu' Cu Florile (The bridge with flowers) and the starting point it's Cabana Bolboci (total Off-Road section it's 5 Km)

    Nice video and don’t listen to all the couch heroes telling you that this is easy.
    Your biggest enemy isn’t your bike or your tires. It’s your fear. I know how it feels because I’ve been there.
    On the road feeling your rear tire slipping is a recipe for disaster but off roading it’s actually something that you want to happen. Take advantage of it and position your bike to take the turn or avoid an obstacle. I know it’s easier said than done but trust me when I say that it’s only the fear that is stopping you. The traction control on the lowest levels will keep you out of trouble.
    Also at a point in the video you got really worried and you stalled the bike 2-3 times. When this happens stop riding. Place the bike on the site stand. Get off it and take a few minutes to relax, breathe and reorganize. You’ll see that you’ll feel better, make less mistakes and probably be able to continue your trip.

      Thanks for your comprehensive advices, they are straight to the point. There will be more and more roads like this one, even more difficult, hopefully the confidence will come with practice. The fear of not dropping the bike it's still there, considering the expensive parts 😁 (one side fender 650 EUR, etc). However the show must go on, there no way out, I'll look forward to the next challenge. Many thanks once again 🙏

      Anything I would have commented would have pretty much echoed what you've just said.
      Best thing would be to try to stay out of your own head, stop listening to everyone who says the tyres are bad and practice on some straight gravel roads, snap the throttle on and see how the bike reacts, brake hard and then harder. Get a feel for it, don't be scared of the rear braking traction.
      I'm only on a little baby KTM 390 ADV with the stock TKC 70 which are known for not being a great tyre off-road but it doesn't stop me belting it around doing powerskids everywhere to get my moneys worth out of them. That being said they will be upgraded to something meatier as they're not an ideal ADV tyre haha.
      Enjoy the bike!

      @@OrangeGenerator I was the same for a few rides too. All of my experience previously was road bikes and I was terrified of the dirt

    Thanks for the video and wonderful scenery.👍🏼
    Practice makes perfect, no point going like a bull at a gate only to end up laying down the bike on the rocks. I certainly would have been cautious, especially on a brand new bike.👍🏼

    Well done mate on pushing yourself to your limit, The more you do the easier it becomes while better tyres will help momentum is your best friend when when riding on loose surfaces. The slower you ride the harder the tyres have to work to keep the bike moving and upright you just have to pick your line watching out for bigger rocks and gutters up your speed slightly and have faith that the bike will look after you, the transalp is a far more capable machine then you might expect. :}

      Thanks a lot, it's a big lesson learned and I'll take it step by step. The Transalp it's amazing, it can do as you said much more. Looking forward to the next one, greetings 👍

    Back wheel slipping is not going to make you fall. You need more confidence and use your clutch to go up those hills.....Beautiful countryside, enjoy your bike.

    Also if you went down one tooth on the front sprocket to a 15 tooth it would be more tractable and when going down the hill it would keep it from running away too fast instead it would allow for engine breaking to help in slowing your speed down because that is really geared up for the highway, and so with the right mods and maybe the tires that you mentioned that TRANSALP could be a serious off-road weapon! Love your videos, that's why I subscribed and that Honda XL750 TRANSALP looks awesome and can't wait until that get here to the States.

    Best thing you could do is get an old beater 125 or 250 cc dirt bike and just go rip around in the dirt so you can learn the dynamics of off road riding. It's not the tires but of course knobbies would grip better.

    • @ljoelmchanley3676
      @ljoelmchanley3676 Год назад +1

      Oh anf btw knobbies suck on pavement especially on wet surfaces compared to a premium road biased tire..

    Muy buen video!!! una pregunta, recientemente me he comprado la Transalp y la verdad que va de lujo pero noto que cuando cambio de 1ª 2ª y de 2ª a 3ª "clok" un poco fuerte pero en el resto de marchas no es tan ruidosa, es normal ese ruido?

    • @IdealBike

      @IdealBike hey the coordinates worked like a charm and by the way those cows are pretty tame and friendly, the last time I had a situation with cows I lost the stare down and had to make a emergency u-turn to get away from a bull that was a little overprotective !
      I can laugh about it now but I wasn't laughing when it happened. 😂

    Man, such road at your speed (like 30 kmh) can be done at ANY motorcycle with 50/50 tyres, you don’t need Transalp for this 😅

    • @IdealBike

      There were people travelling and off-roadin with scooters or Honda C90, or even with sport bikes or choppers, there is no limit for that. The Karoo Street are not the proper tyres for this rocks and even for that small uphill with rocks until the top. Here was a Stone Quarry in the past so yes many rocks up there. Only the rider skills can define a limit of a bike not an average rider like me. Greetings

      It's nicer to ride a road like this on a Transalp or other ADV bike with long travel suspension.
