I made it to ultimate with level 14 cards, but I was only able to do it after halfway through the season and I had to use an evolution. I hate using splashyard, because I don't think the deck is very fun to play, but it's strong even when you're underleveled, and it counters all the hog firecracker decks that I guarantee you will face at least in 25% of your games.
no matter what atrocities monk had done or what the stats say. there will always be a special place in my heart for monk for countering all those firecrackers and little princes ❤
I use monk in 2v2 for that exact reason. I can't count how many times I've countered two little princes with one ability, and it's satisfying every single time.
It's actually still pretty good because it counters little prince. The problem is that you can only use one champion, and everyone would rather use little prince, since you're the player who stands to get damage on tower while attacking with a little prince than defending with the monk. Not to mention monk is so expensive that it struggles to get value in single elixir. It's the same problem with cannon cart. Solid on defense, but easy to defend, and too expensive to be useful in single elixir.
Monk is good imo. So much damage on tower countering sparky, bowler, fire cracker. Great vs minions, bomb tower and little prince, very easy to get value back

As a top 10k monk player I can see he’s definitely not bad but he feels too sluggish to play. He’s good in situations like defending a lone royal giant, countering ranged cards and becoming an impentrable obstacle when needed. He definitely needs a buff tho, in my experience flying machine and mother witch survive with a slither of health sometimes, so perhaps he needs half a second added to his ability. He should also not be able to be pushed back by bowler or spells in my opinion.
But that's what makes them bad. If you can't play cards anywhere it means theres just not enough reasons to ever use them. So no they're not good cards.

Bowler became good when lp came out because it's such a good counter to it. Cannon Cart and Rascals on the other hand don't have good decks that save them from being bad. Rascals are only playable in Logbait which is not a good archetype rn and Mortar where many decks are just better than a Rascal version. Cannon Cart is playable in Mortar decks but has the same issue. Theres just better things to be doing with mortar decks than including Rascals and Cannon Cart. And that's why they're not played. It's a huge difference if a card is niche or if a card isn't played. Theres seemingly only few decks that want these cards. But in reality none of those decks actually wants them because it's just a worse version of what you could play instead. A card like Bowler is the optimal and best choice in some decks. That can't be said about Cannon Cart and Rascals.

Evo firecracker isn't really that strong, but it is hands down by far the most annoying card in the game. Your opponent can mindlessly throw it at the bridge with a hog in front and the onus is on you to be the skillful player and appropriately allocate elixir to defend both the hog and the firecracker separately. If you're not running a building, fisherman, or tornado and you're facing hog rider, good game, you might as well quit the match, because every time your double-digit IQ opponent plays hog rider firecracker at the bridge, you can either try to defend with a ranged unit so that firecracker doesn't chip your tower, but you'll take at least 300 damage from a hog rider hit, or you can defend with a melee unit so that hog rider doesn't connect to your tower, but firecrackers gets chip on tower. And you better believe that your opponent will throw a tank in front of the firecracker to protect it after you're done killing the hog. It's funny how the Clash Royale devs proposed a nerf to barbarian barrel because they saw it spike in usage rates. They don't realize that the only reason people use barbarian barrel is to counter firecracker.

I'm not a guy who rages at video games, but I've rage quit a couple times because of evolution firecracker. Like B-rad said, the firecrackers counter it, but also little prince basically substitutes rascals in most decks because it's three elixir and gives a three card cycle. But rascals are still pretty decent.
They are a good standalone card, but you could just use knight and archers and that gives you 10x more versatility on defence. Against big pushes you either use the big boy or the girls, since the ideal positioning for both is way to different, which means your 5 elixir card does the same as a 3 elixir one
it's funny, I unironically use monk goblin drill to push on ladder, goblin drill is like miner, except more expenseive but does significantly more damage if you ignore it, and monk deals with all the dum midladder stuff well.
i deleted all my cr content over a year ago including yt subs when i heard lvl15 being announced only so shortly after lvl 14. this is the first video i've watched since then and one of the most decorated players out there with countless gc and global tourny wins under his belt is still not fully maxed out. yup. that's why i left. if not even this guy can play the game like we were able to years ago, then none of us can. goodbye forever, was a fun ride. i will never forget this game, especially not that one match between surgical goblin and that one jerry dude with the extremely german name, voice, looks and all...holger? horst? jürgen? hans? heinrich? hubert? detlev? alman? klaus? kasper? friedrich?
