No, the Brothers Grimm didn‘t talk about the Black Forest. They lived in the middle of Germany. There are also a lot of forest areas. It’s in the state of Hassia in the City of Kassel where you can finde a museum. Grimm-Museum. The Black Forest is in southwest of Germany near the French border. 😉

Born in Hanau, 250 km south of Kassel, they are the greatest sons of the city. And the brothers get their greatest honor, as they were on the last 1000 DM bill, which was the German money bill, with the highest value...

She won my heart when she stood on the Autobahn with her bare bottom facing the window.😂 Funny.

My husband and I had a wonderful holiday visiting the Black Forest we spent time in a beautiful village called Triberg noted for shops that sell cuckoo clocks. Naturally, we bought one and it hangs in our house now. I remember walking through the forest where we saw black squirrels that had tufty ears and you certainly won't see them in the UK

The viewing platform reminded me of the Blue Mountains in Australia.

if in Switzerland for a road trip leave Innertkirchen head up the Susten pass, for a coffee or meal try the Sustenbruggli, just over the pass, carry on to Wassen and then to Andermatt and Hospental, take the Furka Pass to Gletsch, from here take the Grimsel pass back to Innertkirchen, its a good day trip, better on a weekday, gets very busy weekends, esp with bikers....well worth it though...

When I was a kid, and later a teenager, I spent most of my holidays in the Black Forrest. Sometimes up to 4 times a year I travelled there with my family, of course. There is a lot to discover and worth a visit for sure! :) But: You'll need very good hiking shoes for sure!

One of my favourite places in the world ❤ Best part is the Titisee lol which they don't show unfortunately
Look up Freiburg am Breisgau, in Baden Württemberg. I think you'd love it.

They missed out the Black Forest Open Air Museum in Gutach (Schwarzwälder Freilichtmuseum Vogtsbauernhof). This is really worth a visit to find out about the traditional life in the forest. Also, not far from the Black Forest is Baden Baden and also Stuttgart. The Mercedes museum in Stuttgart is really worth a visit, and Baden Baden is charming, and has Roman remains.

33% of Germany's surface area is forest. Over 11 million hectares are forest. The Black Forest is just one huge forest area of many. The Hartz or the Bavarian Forest are good examples. In addition, several thousand people get lost in the German forests every year and have to be searched for by aid organizations. It's hard to believe in such a densely populated area .

Maybe, you touched the borders of the Black Forrest on yout trip through Europe. It depends on which location you left Swiss, to go to France. BTW. You passed me in a distance less than 5 miles on the Autobahn, as the crow flies...
