It doesn't matter how many cavities you have or the state of your gums, just make sure your teeth are white and straight - that seems to be the priority for Americans.
Wealthy Americans that we see on TV have beautiful teeth. Poor Americans, of which there are depressingly many, have little access to dental healthcare. Said wealthy Americans then go on TV and make jokes about British teeth, but the reality is most people in the UK have access to affordable dental healthcare that is good quality.
If anyone knows that ones who live over the border would of claim benefits in the north and the south of Ireland that's how they got their free dental treatment. It's not a bad thing like I knew loads of ones who did it lol
Ps. British teeth are excellent despite the stereotype (where did that come from?). Everyone in the UK under the age of 18, those still in education (at any age), the unemployed or those on benefit support have free dental care!
Because they used to recruit Irish men because they still had their front teeth the pleasant diet in Ireland was a lot healthier than English peasant's teeth, many English had missing front teeth and could not bite the cartilage
I like Stephen Colbert, he grew up in Charleston, S.C., a place dear to my heart. However, when Sam Heughan was in the show with his Sassenach whisky, Colbert was very rude. He poured Fresca, a soft drink, into the bit of whisky in the glass, and was very contentious. Sam Heughan remained calm.
Stephen always has to mention that Outlander is so “sexy,” - over focused on that during his interview with Sam too. How is Outlander any more sex oriented than Game of Thrones? If I had the energy and time, I would search his interviews with GOT actors to see if he made that an exclamation point with them as well.

EXACTLY! I'm Irish and constantly dumbfounded by every news story I see about Florida. Just, HOW??? Is there something in the water or is it just a meme gone too far?
@@emrmch the memes definitely pick the most sensational stories, but as someone who spent the first half of my life there, I can tell you that Florida really is… different. It’s because of its strange dichotomy of people. On one hand, it’s known for being *the* retirement state. If older folks don’t stay to live there permanently, many chose to winter there (we always called them snow birds growing up). The other largest population in Florida is absolutely wasted teens and 20 something’s on spring break or summer vacation absolutely wreaking havoc on every beach town on both coasts. Combine that with the massive tourist attraction that is Disney, universal, etc. and you’ve got a state full of mostly people who don’t live there full time, and the ones the do are usually diametrically opposed (massive republican population due to the retirement scene, yet is also one of the states with highest immigration and POC numbers). There’s also massive amounts of drug trafficking which is usually the fuel for most of the stories you hear. It just starts driving people crazy after a while I guess.
@@emrmch The real reasons are 1, population. Florida alone has more than 4x the population of Ireland. Not to mention the tens of millions of tourists that are there year round. And 2, there are no laws protecting criminal identities/behavior in Florida like there are in most other states. A journalist can call the local police and ask what kind of arrests were made and get the police reports. 3, The geography, flora and fauna lends itself to weirdness happening.
@@lavenderoh "there are no laws protecting criminal identities/behavior in Florida like there are in most other states" -> that actually means, the crazy shit that happens in Florida actually happens everywhere in the US, only with Florida we actually hear about it. 😂🤣
Actually Stephen British people have some of the best teeth in the world as we have NHS dentistry. The US actually has the worst as you lot have to pay and drink nothing but soda!
It's from the past British officers wanted more Irish soldiers because they were stronger and had better teeth, a lot of English men had missing front teeth because the peasant diet was not healthy in England. The peasant diet in Ireland on the other hand was healthy. The Irish often drank a little buttermilk with their meal and sometimes used salt, cabbage, and fish as seasoning. Irish peasants were actually healthier than peasants in England or Europe where bread, far less nutritious, was the staple food. Irish farmers utilized an ancient 'lazy bed' planting technique. The British army said Irish men were stronger fitter and healthier and had better teeth, which was needed for changing the guns in them days. There is a reason why the Irish hold more Victoria crosses than the Scottish and welsh

That's a tired, slightly offensive and inaccurate stereotype there Stephen. UK teeth are better than American teeth. Accept it. Yet another thing that America is not the best at.

Poner subtitulos en ESPAÑOL, POR FAVORM
Looking at that dress , I wonder how far till Mardi gras?
We just have our real teeth Stephen!
Shows why there shouldn`t be a border.Just Ireland.
Surely they went to the UK for the dentist because it would be free with it being the NHS. Where as in Ireland we have to pay through health Insurance or just private
Nhs dentist are free to children with nhs numbers you need to be resident in the UK to get this.
True story, when an inexperienced unionist was asked where the name Belfast came from, he replied that William of Orange owned a horse named Belle, and he was very fast.
😂🤣 Legend. Nearly pissed myself laughing.
Thats true, for when the horse came out of the Boyne it was ringin.
except Irish don't speak English back then, so it makes no sense, SMH
@@emu_warrior traditional unionists still love their mythologies about themselves, they’ve self proclaimed they’re god’s chosen people after all.
They’re a dying breed, tg.

And then began to gallop and stumble on a molehill and fell, but not half soon enough.
It doesn't matter how many cavities you have or the state of your gums, just make sure your teeth are white and straight - that seems to be the priority for Americans.
Incorrect.

British teeth are healthier than American teeth. The British value health over cosmetics, for Americans it's the reverse.
She is Irish, though, and, I presume, might be offended mistaking her for British.
@@waryaawariiri1812 Stephen did call her 'English' in the intro before he was talking about the popcorn company. I winced.
I think this was referencing Stephens comment about British teeth…
She is Irish the hint is in her name not being in the English language
she is Irish born south of the border & even if she was born north if the border she's still Irish.
before you worry about Ireland, sort that out.
If anyone knows that ones who live over the border would of claim benefits in the north and the south of Ireland that's how they got their free dental treatment. It's not a bad thing like I knew loads of ones who did it lol
We still go to Newry for the extraction of wisdom teeth! Anyone with a medical card anyway.
Ps. British teeth are excellent despite the stereotype (where did that come from?). Everyone in the UK under the age of 18, those still in education (at any age), the unemployed or those on benefit support have free dental care!
It's hard to find a dentist accepting new NHS patients
Every video of English and when I visit England their teeth are terrible, so it's not a myth
🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
She seems very lovely esp for an immortal time traveling sorcerous
The dentist was less expensive still is
Stephen always has to mention that Outlander is so “sexy,” - over focused on that during his interview with Sam too. How is Outlander any more sex oriented than Game of Thrones? If I had the energy and time, I would search his interviews with GOT actors to see if he made that an exclamation point with them as well.
I wonder if it has something to do with more/less consent around sex, depending on the show? Hyping rape scenes as 'sexy' would be creepy.
SIX!!! !!!
I wonder if she did give the plot away while she was under? She would never know LOL!
Boy! My comment was deleted so fast. All I said was that Stephen was being presumptuous regarding British teeth. We don't all have rotten teeth. We don't all have perfect teeth either. How long before this one gets deleted
Agree! I'm British and all the dentists I've been too have been great!
What is she wearing???
americans who live in the same country as florida.
'wow.... tell us what it's like to live around irish people!'
I love her but what is she wearing?
Lot of angry bad teeth brits in here

We don’t only allow people with fake veneers to be on tv and film that’s why the stereotype is still there, we care about a little thing called ACTUAL TALENT, america should try it one day 😂😛
Plot Twist: the dentist turns out to be the same fan who hired a private investigator to stalk her and Sam to see if they were a secret couple. I'm not making that up.
That's a tired, slightly offensive and inaccurate stereotype there Stephen. UK teeth are better than American teeth. Accept it. Yet another thing that America is not the best at.
So sad to see this guy sell out to the corporate media. His interview skills are cringe worthy.
Still peddling that stereotype for cheap laughs.
It's a really obvious difference between European and American movie stars - American movie stars have perfect teeth, European actors typically have some misaligned teeth. The dentist story is hilarious!
What a weird dress.
@suzanne farrington She looks great and doesn't have to cover up with sequins. That is obviously her taste.
Just some weirdly extreme designer dress. Hopefully, she got compensated for wearing it.
Dear oh dear oh dear - an American feeding into a typical stereotype - lazy; British teeth? Seriously? Come on!!
What happened to Caitriona Balfe’s face she lost a lot of weight in her face. I didn’t recognize her.
Post baby weight loss? Lack of sleep w new baba affecting her maybe?
Funny, I fell asleep watching the movie. Good actors, terrible script.
Liked her dress but she should have worn a bra or some sort of support.
😆
What the hell is she wearing??!!
Why do so many Great British women dress so badly?
Uh...she's Irish. The dress is strange, but not bad.
Her name is not even in the English language that might have been a hint that she is not British, she was brought up speaking the Irish language.
I thought it was a costume malfunction...some of her choices does nothing for her being a model I thought her choices would be awesome and...let me shut up I'm get so surprised at her appearance at times ....be kind me....she still plays the hell out of Claire Fraser...
Emmm hello, Irish...
