It wasn't fear of his own personal safety that drove Harry's departure. It was the senseless slaughter of his men and Australians in general that eventually broke him. He was a brave man that cared too much.
I was certainly saddened by Harry's departure but even more saddened to see such a hardnosed, know-it-all, uncooperative jackass who can't deliver anything when the chips are down. I also like how Flanagan can't keep a strraight face.
