RIDE 5 On PS5 Is Stunning: The Next Stage In Photo-Realistic Graphics?

- Developer Milestone’s RIDE series is one that exploded in popularity in 2021 thanks to a viral video showcasing some absolutely photorealistic visuals in Ride 4. And with Ride 5 being the series’ first game that’s exclusive to current-gen consoles, expectations are naturally high for the sequel.
We’re happy to report that Ride 5 definitely stands tall as a worthy successor to what came before, and it makes great use of Epic’s Unreal Engine to bring some gorgeous visuals to life. While the developer has taken a more iterative approach with its upgrades as opposed to a radical overhaul, the end result is quality stuff nonetheless. We have tested the game on PS5, and with this video- we break down individual elements of Ride 5’s visual presentation.

Until then, Road Redemption isn't on par with Ride 5 in the graphics department, but it's pretty fun to play. ;D

Most impressive part to me is the brake fluid moving around.
They had that in ride4 . Crazy awesome details. Even the gauges work and show you accurate information
Would be cool if they made a sim controller for motorbikes. Feels weird using first person view and a controller or steering wheel, joystick itself isnt perfect either
Project Gotham on X-360 looked almost as realistic as this.
PGR with overcast looks amazing
Sports games, and racing games in particular, have been BEAUTIFUL for a very long time. There was a game called Drive Club came out like a decade ago, literally perfect. Idk how they get much better than they already are.

The other riders look as realistic as my chances of beaten them in real life.
If you told me this game came out in 2015 i wouldn't be surprised nothing special..
TT isle of man: ride on the edge 3 is the greatest motorcycle game ever made. Might be the greatest racing game ever made in fact.
This is a multiplatform game. Also available on Xbox and PC. Why are you trying to make it pass as PS5 exclusive?? How much Sony pays you to promote PS5 sales?
He disn't make it out to PS5 exclusive. 0:45 he said its exclusive to current gen consoleS. But he did make it out to be console exclusive

It's still exclusive to current gen consoles for console releases, though. No Xbox One or PS4 still means current exclusive, even if it's available on PC.

I don't see it, i really liked ,ride 3 and 4. And need something to pass the winter.

The shakiness at high speed is definitely more realistic in Ride 4.
Ride 5 doesn't come out where I live till tomorrow and let me tell you they cost $100 plus where I live to get the game
I have ridden a 1000cc sports bike and have gone 186mph/300km/h multiple times and the first thing i notice is how they got the camera view (first person view) completely wrong. The bike not supposed to sway left and right (looks crap), the horizon is what supposed to change. best to play on 3rd person view as first person view is garbage and not realistic.
Thats true for city traffic, but to ride a bike fast at the limit on a track you will need to shift your body position quite a lot. I agree its still not done good here.
Gran Turismo 7 still looks better even though its not real-time ray-tracing during gameplay but only in replay and showroom.
Looks better on Xbox Series X.
I was so looking forward to this but not any more, will save my money and get Motorfest instead as I think there bikes will look better

I know this is a racing game, and i dont speak for everyone. But as motorcycle fans we want to ride canyons & open roads. Weave thru traffic, freedom. With Ride 4's graffics and The Crew's open world. That would be the dream.

Until high quality raytracing becomes standard then nothing will fit this “photo realism” label. It still looks like a videogame
Ok I don’t know if I’m spoiled or what, but these graphics don’t look realistic at all to me. They are too clean. I think these designers need to learn to add imperfections and dirt. And make the camera and bike shake and vibrate a bit. Add a chip at the corner of the glass wind shield. Now looks like a basic render in high res.
You expect too much lazy italians with a 2-bit criminal mentality trying to push this copy/paste of Ride 4 for full price
Photo realistic graphics? Are you serious? Milestone didn’t even take the time to update the game with the Unreal 5 game engine they’ve been using the last few years on the MotoGP games! Of course if they had, they wouldn’t have been able to cut and paste Ride 4 so easily. Look at some of the side by side comparisons with Ride 4 and you’ll see the graphics in Ride 5 have somehow gotten worse. Ride 4 wasn’t the least bit impressive graphically either. All Milestone did from Ride 4 is play with the lighting and color filters so it would look different. The trackside details and track surface quality are PS2 level at best. As usual, everything was cut and pasted from Ride 4 with zero improvements. Typical Milestone. I’m so happy they lost the MXGP and Supercross licenses. It’s high time someone else got a crack at doing those sports justice. So much for “Next Gen” optimization. Lol. Pretty sad.
Im glad they didnt waste time with a story... I have never heard someone say "play this racing game, it has a great story!" They keep trying that with NFS and look how that turns out everytime...
That's why I enjoy the NFS games and get bored w/ the sim ones. I suppose if I were a car enthusiast or something I'd love Forza/Gran Turismo...but I'm just a casual fan of racing games, so I need a story to stay interested. Of course, Forza/Gran Turismo are better than NFS...but I like NFS games more. This is also why I enjoy the Fast and Furious movies....the stories are lame but it's that combination of cars and a story that makes it fun for me.

You can still tell its a game and it is not photo realistic. UNREAL ENGINE 5 is photo realistic. Developers need to stop being lazy and start using Ureal 5 then you can call it photo realistic.

It's great but Forza Motorsports 8 will surpass in photo realistic look

eh looks like ride 4 tbh. Dont see a point i buying it again. Ride 4 is the same engine and cheaper. Also I have seen better skyboxes in the (original) counter strike. I cant see how you can attribute physics to clearly static repeating patterns of pixelated 2004 rain that is in all the wrong places on the dashboard. (speedometer wont ever get wet unless you stop driving).

Disappointing . I hardly see anything that couldnt be done on last gen consoles . And they have the audacity to charge full price for what basically is a copy/paste of Ride 4 . Will buy though when its on deep sale
