Description - Talking History is a documentary series on Rajya Sabha TV charting the past of fabulous Indian cities and their history.
In this episode we talk about the history of trade and commerce in the capital city and the promonent commuinities which formed the backbone of business culture in Delhi.
Known as city housing several cities, Delhi's trade and commerce dates back to Harappan era and by the medieval era with the foundation of Delhi Sultanate, organised markets too came into being. The prosperity in the trading communities also shaped new socio-political order with prominent members of Jain and Vaishya community occupying key positions in the courts of rulers.
