      Let's be real here.. I think that the difference between the military might of Russia and NATO has always been clear but the last 3 years have shown to the world as well as to the military planers, that Russia is a third grade fighting force whose weapons either don't work as advertised or don't work at all..
      Any potential conflict between us and Russia would be a calamity for the Kremlin regime, but would unfortunately lead to a nuclear showdown.. That is clear as day given that the Russian military experts have realized how woefully inferior their forces are to NATO's, and that they would have to escalate the conflict to a nuclear level sooner than later, cause every day of conventional war would give us in the West one day more to crumble and chip away at their nuclear attack capabilities, with our precision guided bombs and missiles.

    Give Ukraine everything they need to keep their skies empty of Russian aircraft and weapons. Russia will destroy itself given the time. It's more about keeping Ukraine safe until that happens. China will look to their own interests, and as Russia represents around 3% of their exports while the "West" represents more than 50%, it's rather easy to see which side they'd be forced to pic out of self preservation. It's all economics in the end.

    To everyone, Crimea is Ukraine. Not to Ukrainians. To everyone.

      17.3 % of Ukranians declared themselves "Ethic Russians" but in Crimea that was 60% and only 24% declared themselves Ukranian. That is the pre-invasion reality and 77% of all people there speak Russian and any referendum there would be an uncertain outcome for Ukraine those are the facts.

    • @billy2807
      @billy2807 Месяц назад

      @robertfrancis7767 dubious, but let's say that's true. A foreign country rolling tanks into the sovereign territory of another and then holding a nonsense referendum at gunpoint is not a valid way for that territory to declare independence (and then instantly get "annexed" by the terrorists that invaded).
      Can England go and "protect" English speakers in the US? Can Spain just start annexing every country and territory that speaks Spanish? No. And they won't. Because they exist in the modern, civilized world. The rf does not.
      Don't worry, though. Once the sick old tsar is gone, the rf will probably have a chance to rejoin the civilized world in 50-100 years. Until then, russia will slowly lose ground economically, demographically, technologically, politically, and in most other ways as compared to the rest of the world. The citizens of the rf, who aren't really citizens, will continue to subsist on whatever the regime can beg from China and North Korea. And potatoes. They can grow potatoes.
      Tough generation coming for russia. Luckily for everyone, there aren't that many russian children being born to have to suffer what their idiot parents have done.

    A few facts, winning v losing, until hostilities are ended, the conflict is fluid, no one is winning, no one is losing. At the end, the victor is the side that lost less badly than the other side. Nuclear escalation is not even a credible consideration, that’s why deferents exist. Putin would drink bad tea or fall out of a window before that was ever an option. Not all Russians are daft. The best of what Russia ever had militarily is now gone and it seems it was never that good after all. Russia can’t defend its own borders and China is their biggest threat. The Eastern provinces have always been Chinese in their eyes and soon the map will be redrawn. NATO doesn’t need to do anything.
    One point of order that is often misquoted and by this commentator, there is only one Rubicon, not several that can be crossed. It is of course a historical reference and the inference being it is the ‘last straw’
