On erikoista kirjoittaa pitkästä aikaa suomeksi.

      Ihana viesti, kiitos Vimana! 😊🙏
Suomessa on kieltämättä omat omituisuutensa, mutta juuripa siksi kauniisti itsensä
      ilmaiseminen suomeksi onkin palkitsevaa!
Aurora onkin mielenkiintoinen tapaus.
Lisää on itseasiassa tulossa pian.

Thank you for an excellent reaction! I am not a singer or musician but I have been a music addict for almost 69 years now and when I recently stumbled onto Aurora I was seriously moved in a way I did not see coming. It has been a good thing! Good reactions like your's help me understand more about how Aurora does what she does. She is as vulnerable as finely spun glass and as strong as high carbon steel. Her art is almost too intense to bear, but you can't look away. She rips you open and heals you at the same time. Who does that? She is a siren in the form of a wood nymph. Resistance is futile!

Terve ;) I am so happy, you are doing Aurora. I know, I talked about her a week or so ago, but then I only knew like 3 - 4 songs and nothing about Her. I have been digging into her this last week and i am totally fascinated by what she has to say. Especially the part about letting children believe they can change the world. I remember beeing sad and upset multiple times in my childhood about many things and wanted to change them. And the answer you usually get is: "Stop dreaming. That is not how the world is and we can't change that."
I really like, that she takes her time, thinking before answering even trivial Interviewquestions, too.
On the languageside of things, "ja" is giving me a hard time, because it means yes in german. Will take a while to get my head around that xd on the other hand minä ja sinä sounds way more beautiful than "me and you" or "ich und du", so maybe that will stick

    • @annavaskelainen

ooh somehow this comment has escaped my attention I am so sorry Chris! Tervehdys, vähän myöhässä! 😊
Glad you liked my Aurora reaction! She is a very fascinating artist indeed. She clearly puts a lot of thought
into her music and her output in general.
Oh haha yes that must be a difficult thing when learning Norwegian as German. 😂
That is soo interesting that you thinks "minä ja sinä" sounds beautiful! Finns often think
      our language sounds crap! 😂

@@annavaskelainen Don't worry, you took a lot of time to talk to me during the premiere and I am very happy you take the time to answer all my long Posts about whatever :) Music, Language. Made my day today on no-motivation-wednesday.
I think minä ja sinä rolls of the tongue quite nicely. It has a flow to it. I checked out if there is a song that is called minä ja sinä (because their kind of has to, right?). I came across one by Dingo and I don't dislike it. Actually quite nice. Seems a little older, tough. Edit: and now i found one by Jari Sillanpää (Wonder if Chris Isaak knows about this one;)).
At the moment "Jee" gives me a hard time. I don't rly get how to use it. It is translated to "Yay" in englisch. And I never use that in english, so I am not quite sure how it works. But I think I figured out "Moi". Thats seems to be used like the italian "Ciao". Like you can use it to say Hi and Bye. Funny enough in the north of Germany they often say "Moin" or "Moin Moin" which is roughly translated to "mornin'" or "mornin' mornin'". Languages are so fun.
In the first steps I actually like the finnish language quite a lot. It seems to be better structured than the Languages I came across and mostly spoken and written word does not differ from one another once you get, which letter makes which sound. All finnish ppl. may be laughing out loud about the stupid things I say, but that is kind of my first impression. Looking forward for the next reaction.

Lovely reaction (again) and complete on point. Aurora is creative, charismatic and above all totally herself. I think that's wonderful. She needs to be protected against the evil forces of this world, I feel. Seeing her live in concert was amazing and uplifting. My favorite song is the amazing Live at The Current version of 'It happened quiet', which is almost gut-wrenchingly emotional. The entire concert at Nidarasdomen 2017 (in a cathedral) is amazing as well. Basically everything she does is awesome

@@annavaskelainen Yes, she is great. I can say I am supporter/fan of her even if I can not tell the same thing about anyone from the Michael Jackson time (when was very young - but it was very mainstream pop in a contrast to Aurora which is not mainstream in my opinion). Of course I listened to many great artist which I like in a meantime from a very different genres.
And about my most favourite songs of Aurora. It is very hard for me to put them in order as it change with time and sometimes with particular versions :). For sure I love very much songs like: "Lucky", "Little Boy in the Grass", "Winter Bird" (from Nidarosdomen), All is Soft Inside, Churchyard (KEXP). With a little less popular: "Home" (official or Dupond Undeground) and "Daydreamer" (official), "Awakening" (first TV performance 2014). Od course also love "It Happened Quiet" (The Current"). Of course also performances from Nobel Prize Concert (Murder song and Runaway). Although i listened to Runaway too much already and prefer some other songs even more:).
To be honest i love (or at last like very very much) every her songs (some more some less). Only not a 'fan' of very few performances, when she was tired or had worse days.
      EDIT: Forgot about "The Seed".

Greetings from Scotland! I love listening to Aurora sing, but I love watchin her sing even more! She's the type of singer who sings with her voice, her facial expressions and her body language so she can tell the story fully with the most impact. Truly an "experience" getting to know her through her songs. Anyone can "sing" a song but it takes a true artist to include real emotions and real feelings for the best listening/visual experience I think? At 8:30 you talk about her gestures, and I totally agree that she uses them not only to emote a feeling of motion for the audience, but she's doing it here in the studio because I feel it helps her to go where she wants to go vocally. She makes so many interesting changes between voices as she sings, these odd motions that she makes work beautifully in directing her voice to the sound she wants to make. Very cool. Another great reaction, can't wait to see more.

    • @grogueQ
      @grogueQ 3 года назад +1

I see in a couple places she puts her hand on her chest as she switches to her chest voice and she'll flutter her hands around when she's singing more freely, then she moves in close for the lighter notes her hands come closer to her face, like she's a conductor and she's conducting her voice.

Somehow she reminds me of Heather Nova and Tori Amos, mostly because of the original way of singing. Or it could be just because it's a bit high. Do you see any similarities?
I also saw Kate Bush mentioned in the chat, but I only know Running up that hill (because of a Within Temptation cover) and Wuthering Heights. I think she belts though, right? I recall both songs as very powerful. Still also not your typical vocalist, and very nice.
