There was something delightfully creepy about stations signing off each night. Like a mini end of the world, especially deep in the Cold War era. Also interesting to note that stations wouldn’t come back until almost 7 am. That’s kind of late in today’s world - stations are starting morning news before 5 am and lots of folks are commuting by 6:30. Just a different world.
There is only one sign-off that you’re missing is KABC-TV from 1982 where he was announced that the station would return at 7AM where “Superfriends” comes on and the “Thought of the Day” as done by Len Beardsley. Here it is. ruclips.net/video/NBkateT20kg/видео.html

I had most of these channels and global Toronto Toronto until we got global television from Halifax in 2011
KHJ 9 is now KCAL 9
Cbs television stations owns channel 9 and it's still kcal.
