I'm reading _Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep_ and I'm truly appalled at how much they left out and changed from the book for the movie. Don't misunderstand, I will always love _Blade Runner_, but there's so much of DODES that they leave out, and other stuff that they change for no reason I can understand. For example, why in the film are they replicants - living being constructed through genetic manipulation, and in the book they are androids - sophisticated machines? The book is asking questions about the definition of humanity, and changing the fundamental nature of the androids into replicants changes the context significantly.
Roy is dead... and Dekart is actually a replicant.. besides you should read Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep... much different.. weird book , I highly recommend it
