You could use a nicely stained or painted furring strips on the part of the counter top covering where it doesn’t stick, the underside, to keep it in place. Good luck on the interviews, here’s hoping you find something you’ll enjoy doing.
You did a very good job with the counter tops. Do you have a hairdryer? I'm thinking warm up the glue on the vinyl and underside of cabinet. I would try a test spot . Good luck.
Paint for worktops no good. Comes off. Wrapping is far more long term, hardwearing really. Plus 2 diff worktops joined, would have not matched up properly 🫣

Possibly a brass strip wrap around counters. Look up vintage kitchens. They would do a chrome wrap around the counter.

Fair few lost track. Many heard nothing at all. Had 5 rejections and 2 offers. Usual bad ratio. Then venues complain at their staff retention 🤣
