To be honest, Sam Neill is so loved that if he went to a park in England and starting calling for Chuff, he'd probably get some.
My eldest female dog is called willow, my mum agreed to the name, purely so she can shout "come here willy" down the street 😭😂

@@danellis-jones1591 my apologies. You're right. I missed the word 'opposite'. To be fair I was surprised as I'm a kiwi and have been a fan since he starred in 'My Brilliant Career' and he comes across as a lovely human being in interviews.

It breaks my heart to see the long-term impact on adults raised in dysfunction who then go on to repeat the cycle with their own children.

What a good sport and genuinely good guy, Sam Neill. At the 8:50 mark, when they're walking out towards the bench, seeing the Airstream caravan immediately brings to mind Sam's character in The Hunt For Red October when he says "and I shall be a recreational vehicle". I'm chuffed (the original chuffed and not Russell's definition) to have seen this today!

I've never heard of Russell Howard. Very funny guy. Now Sam Neill I have heard of, of course. This was hilarious. He looks like a very nice guy. His farm is gorgeous. Love the animals. Sam is amazing, dont get me wrong....but owning a vineyard in Central Otago isnt exactly the 'simple life'. Thats like saying someone who owns a stately home/estate in the UK is a 'farmer'.

If you ever do find yourself in front of the Bayeux Tapestry (which is an embroidery, not a tapestry) and in need of facilities, use the lavatories within the museum itself. The public loos in the town of Bayeux are disgusting. Don't need to state exactly where in the town they are, because from about 500 yards away, you can smell 'em!

Since at least the '80s when I was a kid.
Wasn't when I were a lad in the 60s!
According to wiktionary:
1957, from dialectal (northern England) chuff, originally meaning “puffed with fat”.
So it likely took a little while to spread.
I'm sure I've heard people in Yorkshire say "chuffing" as well, as a kind of substitute expletive.
In Northern Ireland I took it to mean 'arse' as in "that fucking Escort has been up my chuff for the last 10 minutes!"
What is it about english people that showing affection to their dogs is easier and more natural apparently then to children or even other people..why is this ?

@@donaldcook3112 but I think most English people also seem to be incredibly socially awkward and talking to a dog is easier than another human being.Its one thing loving animals because you think they are better than humans but another altogether not being able to talk,relate or make conversation with your fellow human beings.These are skills that need to be learnt and hiding behind a dog and avoiding as much social contact as possible is not going to help with that.
