I've uploaded a one-off Symphonic Metal piece, a genre I've always wanted to try out. Enjoy :)

Liebe Rena, ich war leider wirklich lange weg... und inklusive Umzug in die Schweiz, neue Arbeit etc. aber hoffentlich kommen jetzt wieder einige Sachen...

Das kann man bestimmt hiermit hehe danke :-) es gibt zwar Pirate Metal da draussen, aber leider kommt meins da nicht so ganz ran ;-)

Too diatonic for metal, not always but still))
I know that symphonic (any subgenre) metal became super popular, but to my taste guitar doesn't fit the orchestral texture. It mixes well nice with strings and woodwinds(not all) but brass section overcomes it too easily. Sounds weak and unnecessary being played together with any brass intrument.
I am not against guitar in symphony orchestra, but due to its timbre properties I believe it is better to use it on special ocasions rather than giving it such prominent parts.
I play guitar myself and tried the same thing, but failed quickly. With rich orchestral tutti guitar became the fifth wheel.
But there is a symphonist from Belarus, who (on my opinion) did it superb.
Nevertheless nice piece of music)

Interesting point that Brass doesn't go too well with the Guitars.. they are a bit overpowering, true. Combining orchestra with Metal is really difficult, but I thought I'd have a go :) No idea what genre this is actually supposed to be ;)
