I took the IELTS test this morning where the writing task 2 was to discuss whether government should spend money protecting languages fewer and fewer people speak or not. The topic of the writing task 2 reminded me of an English song based on a real and tragic story happening in Australian whose name is "from little things big things grow". The story happening in Australia is almost the same as the real and tragic story in the vedio above. I think we must learn to respect minority ethnics , because every human has right to live the way as their ancestors and define happiness from different angles by themselves. It's surprised for me to get an extra benefit in the test that I could have an opportunity to express my viewpoint towards an issue like that. I have no opportunity to discuss the issue in my real life..
My father was between 6 & 8 years old when him and 5 older siblings were either removed(it's being represented like it was a choice the parents made) or taken from a family with a total of 12 kids(youngest 6 were adopted out). He was born in Saskatchewan, he was sent to Wichita, Kansas, USA, where he was adopted by a indigenous family (I don't even remember what they are, but my father claimed they treated him like shit)... He was roughly around 30 when he went searching for his biological family, what he was told was that the adoptions were done through Lutheran church services, he was one of 12 total kids in the family, and the youngest 6 were put up for adoption by the parents. He was told (at that time) that both his biological parents were deceased and that one of his older biological siblings was blocking the release of any information. He wasn't even told if his name is his name or if it had been changed... I know that when he was adopted he did not take his adopted family's last name of Twohatchet... His name was Gregory Michael Murphy...he died a homeless drunk and because he's not listed on any of his children's birth certificates we aren't allowed to access any information. I can't even find any of his records on any of the adoption registries.
