- Āliamanu Middle School students received second place in the middle school division of the 2024 HIKI NŌ on PBS Hawai‘i Spring Challenge for this story about their schoolʻs experience taking part in creating Genki Balls, which contain a special mixture of sludge-eating microbes that are cleaning the Ala Wai Canal in Waikīkī.
