Geophysics - Seismic: Attributes (part 3) time domain calculation of the quadrature or Hilbert trace

We take a detailed look at the computation of the quadrature (imaginary) trace in the time domain. The quadrature trace is computed as the convolution of the Hilbert time domain operator with the real trace. We review the convolutional model of the seismic trace and extend and note the equivalent quadrature computation. We show an excel example of this process using the 19 point Hilbert time domain operator along with computations of the instantaneous phase and frequency.
