The quietest one is the 601 I don't think that the 870 is as quiet Weightwise, the 703 basic tool is 687g and the 601 is 676g = the 703 is 11g heavier than the 601 The 801 has 794g My hope : the next upgrade of the 601 will be more powerful or a 12v version of the 870 and even quieter
I love 12v extreme lineup. However, I am always second guessing in investing more in that platform whether Dewalt will expand on them. I am currently on 20v with some 12v and always struggling to move away completely from m12. If it wasn't for the m12 fat grip and battery clips breaking, I would already be on m12 with no need for any Dewalt.
Yeah, decibels are a logarithmic scale. A 10 db difference is 10x the power and generally considered 2x the perceived volume. So it’s fair to say this will sound about half as loud as the other impact driver and from an ear safety standpoint the difference is even greater.
Yes, it is noticeably quieter, especially on littler fasteners on bigger fasteners. It’s a little louder than I would like, but I don’t deal with them very often.
It's really quiet at low rpm compared to a regular impact. But Is pretty loud at full rpms. Dewalt and milwaukee let us down with their hydraulic impacts. Only rigid has pulled it off

That dcf601 screwdriver is my MVP. Love that thing. Between it and an M12 surge, I rarely need anything more
I only wish DeWalt would offer something like the 870-m12 surge in 12v.

It sounds a lot like the Ridgid Stealth Force R86036. Can't wait to try this one out
10 decibels is actually a lot quieter. dBs are measured logarithmically

@@quinnreilly7681 yeah, you can safely handle the hydraulic's DB levels for 3 hours straight according to the safety charts. BIG difference.
