I love listening to old Indians talk. They speak with such rigor, affirmation and cynicism that it's so enjoyable to listen to. They always have wonderful stories to tell.
I love this! I have done yoga since the 70's. Started when I was 16. I have never been able to do the jumping part of this yoga. 1st time I've heard where this jumping part came from.

Such a great man, humbleness bordering with self-deprecation. A great teacher never becomes complacent, never stops learning and developing, and in the end he encourages his students to develop the system further. So many parallels with Carl Rogers...
Mental health has been added to WHO's definition of health only recently but the idea of a holistic health existed centuries ago and had been repeatedly said in Yoga practices. I can't believe it gets so little attention in this era but it speaks from centuries of experience and growth❤️
I am not a native speaker of English so my words can't have much power but my feeling is pure, a sincere thanks for unloading this video, it's eternal feekling to see my guru ji,
extremely good. I am really speechless. Guruji's contribution in the field of yoga would last for coming at least four five centuries. hats off..salute..
The legend of Yoga explains so simply and eloquently. From 16:23 to 16:53 he provides a clear answer to a great question that everyone should ask themselves.

Wow, 90+ years and arguing for the necessity of progress in Yoga as well as in science. Moreover It's so evident listening to him that he calls it as he sees it, and his judgement is clear in all instances. Very impressive.
So priveleged to see Gurujee sharing such knowledge graciously. Appreciate how he reminds us about yoga being univwrsal, sarva bhava, when the interviewer is trying to divide yoga in east vs west.

Yes Yog is indeed Indian and more so, a vedic sanatan dharma tradition. Indian sages have been practicing yoga and meditation since thousands of years. West has made it popular and commercial. Patanjali yog sutras are thousands of years old.
How come only when Guruji talks there's subtitles and not when the interviewer talks? Is it taken for granted that one would automatically understand the American (what sounds to be) accent universally and you would only need subtitles for what is not??
@@MotoVikz Not really. I've seen Scottish and Irish people subtitled because although they were speaking English their heavy accents made them less than easy to understand. Sometimes a misunderstanding in one word creates the wrong impression. Subtitles can go a long way to removing any doubt about what is being said. Not everything is a conspiracy to demean others.
Ross Elliot It's a matter of perspective and your assumption that other accents are unclear and American accent isn't is also one, which is what my point is. Nothing to do with conspiracy.
@@MotoVikz Indeed it is about perspective. For some people, some accents are unclear and subtitles are helpful. If you don't need the help then don't read the subtitles. Other people may find them useful. Each to their own. Live and let live.
He asks her how long SHE has done yoga and she says she's done it for 28 years. The subtitles were wrong. He then mentions something he's discovered and asks her if she knew that which she didn't even after 28 years of practice.
Being bound to our desks is kind of a bummer. Thankfully, this routine targets the area that suffers the most. Yep, we’re talking about the hips. Yoga instructor Adee leads a slow and steady sequence that includes poses to target your hip flexors and relieve tension, like a yoga squat and Frog Pose. Her soothing voice helps you feel at ease - a welcome reminder for the work-hard, play-hard set.

He was very honest and a down to earth man. Without any "holy man" attitude.
Very surprised by his honesty and humbleness. Assumed he would be like the other "gurus" 😄
This was posted in 2012.. He was 93 years old then.. and look at the way he speaks.. just awesome.. inspiration..

Iyengar is anything but cynical. Perhaps you mistake his humour for that or you don't understand what the word means.
