That is so cool! That's cause there a team of musical angels that really dig your vibe, they told Ibanez to hook a brother up! Now I just need these angels to do that trick with a new Spector like you all reviewed on here with the fishmans and burl top!
Ibanez definitely deserves much more credit from the bass community than they reveive. Such nice well thought-through basses, such an amazing quality for this price point. Says the guy who dropped his first ever bass (Ibanez) for a Fender Jazz...

I just got a brand new 2021 SR605E and this bass is sweet, gnarly, punchy, multi-dimensional, and as cozy as they come. The factory setup from Ibanez was perfect.
I got a SR-505 back in 2005 and owned (own) several (some) other basses since then, and while I love them all, none beats the versatility, comfort and easiness to play that I found on the 505. It lacks a bit in tone but honestly, it is the value for the money I have ever found in a bass that if I go bankrupt and need to sell my instruments, this is the one I will keep.
Back in January, I purchased the Ibanez 605E in black burst and I love it! The neck is very comfortable, I love the sound, especially pairing it with a Darkglass Microtubes B7K Ultra pedal
Ibanez my 'go to' brand.. I believe the best value basses out there! So happy they let you keep it! Also very refreshing to at least have a demo player who can play..! Well done and look forward to more :)
I have more expensive basses, but my SR 705 is what I usually grab first. Great basses, and not for nothing great support from Ibanez if you ever need it. The SR series are just workhorses, you can get a wide array of excellent tones and they are super comfortable.
I've been rocking two SRs since the 90s. A fretless SR05, ex Dave Pegg Jethro Tull. Killer fretless … Defretted by Ibanez and fitted with EMG J-type with hum-cancelling coils underneath them. And an SR1305 fretted that I got to match the SR05. Stock Ibanez AFR Js ,wenge, bubinga, padauk. Lovely looking bass, sounds pretty good too 😉
Ibanez's mid level products have totally won me over from squiers and fenders. I have love for both companies though! I'm quite excited to own the 5 string!

I'm still using one of the first 5 string soundgears made, an SR885 from 1990-ish. It's been my primary for over 30 years. Looking at the SR605E as an upgrade. Mine has EMGs because the stock pickups died probably from a badly wired amp. Should be a nice upgrade from 2 band to 3 band semi-parametric and a passive switch. Plus string spacing is vital for a 5 string on these narrow necks. My G-string was slipping off the edge of the fretboard. Had to replace the bridge with one that included spacing adjustment. The 605e looks like it would be perfect right out of the box. And Nordstrands on a bass for under $1k? Nice!
My first foray into five-string playing was an SR505 and it was a lovely bass - comfy, easy to play, slim neck, narrow spacing and rich tone with both pickups on. However, I didn't like the pickups individually and the narrow spacing meant slap and picking didn't come as easy as they should.
Great review Gregor and thanks for another wonderful video. I just wish Ibanez had a neck like Warwick does. I love the look but thier neck is so small I never got a good feeling from it. I'm one of the wierd people who like hearty necks.

I play in a cover band (wide variety of classic rock, some modern country, and then some newer rock) - and currently play a Squire Vintage Jag. Any help on this decision would be great! I have only been playing a few years and with the band just since March. I was also looking at the SRM800/805 multifret scale. Any feedback would be great!

Why the string spacing on 5 string version looks different at 4:07? Like the spacing between 4 and 5 strings is wider than between 3 and 4. Was it made intentionally?
