That is such a beautiful plane! Great job on the build and paint. I love the yellow LEDs in the motors. Great addition!

It looks beautiful and flew great. The head wind helps a lot for the throw.

Great to see it in the air at last Ben.

😂 “Sir Toss A lot” here. My arm is not like it use to be in the baseball days! Haha. Hey the form is good? Huh Jeff? 😆
Nice video Ben!! Really fun plane! I can’t wait to “throw” it again! 😅

Good flying....looked good in the air. I may have to be brave and tackle a jet some day. Overall a success despite the little setbacks, could've been much worse!

Looks like a job for 80 to 90mm EDFs. I am going to put 80mm's in mine - whenever I get to building it! I still have the F-18 to complete. Great flying, though.

Bigger EDF and 12s will solve the power issue. Great looking bird!

I just feel that belly landing these big things is asking for trouble. Plus you must out on the whole fun of a proper takeoff and landing. If i ever build these big things they'll def be modded with landing gear.

Your repairing technology is so good that it has fixed soon, isn't it?
Styrene board design has been improving better than a few years ago!
How fascinating an F-14 it is!👍

You know, I considered this Flitetest F14 build for awhile until I researched what the entire build was going to cost all up, and it's not far off from the price of the Freewing F14's price which is a much superior rc model in my opinion. I'd rather have the Freewing F14 any day of the week.

Yeah, their plans are great for some of the smaller, simpler builds but the reality is with these larger birds by the time you buy all the electronics you're not that far off from a full fledged freewing, eflite, or whatever. Obviously still run the benefit of being more repairable but that's not as big of a deal for me experienced pilots. I also found the longevity is just not there with hotglue seams. Still, might not prevent me from building one some day but yeah. Something to consider.

More pitch-up launch; maybe even a running start

The head wind was good, throwing it wrong is why he had issues before. It has the power to climb out.

Im kind of curious, why do these foamboard planes never have all moving stabilators?
Always thought its a little weird

    • @TheHarberHangar
      @TheHarberHangar  Год назад +1

It’s generally just simpler to design and build hinged-elevators. But I have done all-moving tails before on an F-4 and F-18 foamboard jet, and it worked very well. It could also work on this F-14, but it would require a bit more redesign of the nacelle-structure, and I didn’t want to “mess with it” this time.
