Great episode! Don Gordon was an excellent supporting character actor, who effortlessly portrayed both heroes & villains. Everyone gave top notch performances in this episode! ❤
Insight should be remade today. I feel it has as much significance now as it did back then. I am sure a new generation of actors would appreciate the quality of these scripts.
Albert Salmi was a good actor and one of the more popular character actors in the 60’s appearing in literally hundreds of shows throughout his career. big things like Twilight Zone,Route 66,lost in space, naked city, gunsmoke, even occasionally appearing in things in the 80’s like Knight Rider. More often than not he was cast as violent criminals, bullies and villains. Sadly he had a problem with depression and alcohol and his wife claimed he would become violent when drunk. His life ended tragically with him killing his ex wife and then himself.
Eternal rest grant unto him o Lord and make perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed through the Mercy of God Rest In Peace Amen I did see Salmi in the original tv production of “Bang the Drum Slowly.” Paul Newman played the main character and narrator Arthur. It’s probably on the Internet somewhere.
@@StevenJBosch I pray God will have Mercy on Brian Keith as well. He was devout Catholic and and a Marine, and was a kind person based on all accounts I’ve heard. He was always a likeable person in tv shows and movies,I’ve seen him in,especially as “Uncle Bill” on Family Affair. Sadly he took his own life too. I wish God would have answered his prayers and healed him,and everyone in their time of need. I truly hope God doesn’t consider it a sin if a person in pain does what he did.
Another hardcore episode....seems like one of the earliest Insight episodes with 'Twilight Zone' aspects. And yes looks like Father Kieser was edited out of this print for some reason (some others are like that too). Grateful we have it though!
Wow! This was a deeply depressing episode! I had to turn it off when Albert Salmi went into the bathroom while that nasty woman was berating and abusing him mercilessly while he was drunk. I already knew where it was going. That scene was made even more disturbing knowing that Salmi had a problem with alcohol in real life and wound up killing himself and his ex wife. People create their own prisons in life. Spending money talking to strangers about problems only you can solve is ultimately pointless. So is turning to alcohol as a means of escape. Instead he should have discussed his feelings with his wife, and if they couldn’t reach a compromise they should cut their losses and go their separate ways. There’s no point in either person staying in a situation that makes both people miserable. Bottom line here is talk about all these important things BEFORE you get married so you know if you’re both on the same page. If not move on and find someone who wants the same things from life as you.
For starters, this is a really effective episode and I appreciate that it challenges the viewers, me included, to look into the gray areas. No easy and concrete answers in the story at all. I agree wholeheartedly that Patricia Barry's outwardly beautiful character comes off as spiteful, sarcastic, and thoughtless, but she is, after all, *human* and the remorseful young woman does come to apologize, admitting wrongdoing for the horrible way she has treated her beleaguered client. RIP to these three great actors.
If so, it wasn't intentional. We have very few copies of Insight materials, so this copy might have been edited for a specific reason. Thanks for watching!
As we all know, kinescope copies of the original videotaped episodes were made available for school and community use. Sometimes, Father Kieser's comments were deleted from them for various reasons.

Interesting. Three Twilight Zone alumni. Cool.

In this kinescope, Father Kieser's opening and closing remarks were deleted.
Why is there an optometrist's eye exam chart in the emergency room?
The strange aspects of Insight! :)
@@InsightPaulistProductions which is why we love it!
Has Bud Kieser's intro been edited out after the opening credits? It looks that way.
