is your taiwan cs-3 silver or black label,? I have the cs-1, cs-2 and had a cs-3 Taiwan silver label then came across and purchased a boxed Taiwan black label 1993 even though it has the that 2159 chip it sounds so much better than the 2014 Taiwan silver label ,sold the silver label soon as I played through the black label, have now discovered a earlier Taiwan black label cs-3 with dbx chip ,but will pass on that only going for a cs-3 mij next with dbx to complete my range,
Majd Zarhani they are 'daisy chained' and thus share a common path to ground, which means 9v is fine. (If not daisy chained, CS-2 and CS-2 require 12v). See this article for more detail stinkfoot.se/archives/726
Cs3 and cs1 is garbage, i have a ota comp based in intersil ca3080e its really quiet and very very louder with sharp highs with 3 discrete bjt c1815clbl 5x c1815clgr 3x c1815oc greater hfe matcheds and two jfet no dual op amps! Onerr titanium compressor tc1
This is such an excellent exhibition of Boss compressors. Thank you for showing the PCBs!
I always loved the cs1, it makes rockabilly sound like some weird hifi reel to reel. Gotta find me another one asap.
good stuff mate, I'm thinking getting my hands on the CS-1
All 4 at once sounded pretty awesome tbh
I have a MIJ cs3 with DBX chip and its simply the best comp i've used. Super quiet.
Can you really hear any major differences between the CS 3 MIJ and MIT? Thanks for the comparison.
nope! thx for your comment
Late to the party but...do you remember...how much of a tone knob on cs3 should you dial in to get the sound of the "treble" switch on cs1?
I would say roughly 75%
@@PedalScience thank You!

I probably had the newer MIT one here as I didn't hunt for an old one since I already had the MIJ.
Do they all use the same power supply? The CS3 and CS 2 can be fed with with the same regular power chord ?

The CS-2 sounds the best. Then the MIJ CS-3
I agree
are the cs2 japan and taiwan same?
CS-2 is Japan only. CS-3 taiwan and japan sound very similar
@@PedalScience are you sure I'm almost positive I've seen some CS2 taiwan's
@@levijessegonzalez3629 pretty sure as they only made it until 1986; production moved to Taiwan around 1990.
@@PedalScience im gonna get one. the only other compressor that I feel comes close is that Ibanez C10
@@levijessegonzalez3629 I've got the CP10. My first compressor. Also interested in the CS-2
