Melvin you have given us MMA/Kickboxing fans over a decade of of what we pay to see. STOP FIGHTING and open up a gym. You are too old to continue this without long term repercussions to your health.
What a head-kick, impressive. Even more impressive his strategy: Carvalho made his opponents thinking only about body kicks, then suddenly he change the height of his kick, and landed on the head of the other fighter. Great fight.
Melvin needs to retire , he has taken a lot of damage over the years . His 40 yrs old , been doing this for 20yrs ,time to become a trainer. Pride, ufc, he has a lot of experience.
Melvin has had an amazing career and an amazing story but honestly, I have seen him flatlined to many times now. Melvin you have seen it all; done it all. please stop.
Melvin has become old. He can't throw combination of punches like before. His famous low kick is gone. He concentrates on not to be hit. thats good but if he does only that , it becomes borring. To my amazement his wrestling has improved but after he gets on the top, no action. He has to stop and train others, like all great fighters do.
After all I Think Melvin is a great champ now he has a huge gym in Hoofddorp and is building his own martial arts competition, the World Fighting League (WFL) . This is viewed well, with a report from Marloes Coenen. you know a other Champ from Holland .
Ooo you knocked out a old Manhoef. I hate seeing old fighters fight young dudes who should be fighting their peers. Not to count older fighters out but it just makes sense.
@@thepigeon2585 How does he in any way not deserve the hype he gets, being one of the best middle weights currently, and goes into a top 25 list... And then you consider his record... Please tell how on your planet, all of those achievements do not deserve praise or hype. Go ahead and tell me.
@@ArthaxtaDaVince777 At no point in his career was he ever truly considered the number 1 in any of the divisions he fought in. Such a long record and not a significant title reign in sight. Then his tendency to fall short when it really matters. He's a guy who has always been a top 10 fighter in whatever division he fights in but that is it. No he is not deserving of the hype he gets because his performances very rarely live up to it. Declaring him an all time great is seriously lowering the bar on greatness I don't underrate him, I can see him as the upper middle of the pack guy he always has been. You are the one determined to pretend he is anything more than that. Feel free to hype him up, he;s never lived up to it before and he clearly isn't going to start now. You're only wasting your own time.
@@thepigeon2585 That's how the real world works, some people by chance become more successful than others given the same talent and skills... For example, everybody knows about GunNRoses, a decent band with a big name, but almost nobody in the mainstream view knows about Grand Funk Railroad, one of the best to ever do it. Why? Is it because GunsNRose is that much better? No, it is because GunNRoses lived through circumstances that helped bring them out into the public view and have more radio time, with songs such as "Sweet Child of Mine," being popular and easy to listen to for listeners of all ages. This is an analogy, Mousasi being GFR and someone like Whittaker being GunNRoses. Whittaker is in the greatest of all time list, and is currently top 3 middle weights, being number one in the UFC. Problem is Whittaker has lost to some truly terrible fighters, even though he has improved a great deal since those fights. Gegard is top tier, he has never lost to low tier opponents, his only loses have been against top contender's and almost every time he had come back and defeated them in a rematch, proving he's just as good if not better. Try to find me a fighter as well rounded as Gegard, the dude was slaughtering a BJJ expert on the ground in round 3 and 4. He has only really been defeated in ground game by some of the best of all time, such as Souza and Lovato. He has fought through most of his career against cheaters who half the time were proven to be on peds. Even in his last fight, many people were suspicious about Lovato being on peds, but Bellator doesn't care about that aspect. Gegard has beat Weidman, Souza, so he is easily a top fighter today. If you don't underrate him, then how can you claim he part of the upper-middle pack? That's ironic, upper-middle is usually fighters with barely positive win/loss ratios, whereas Gegard has a record of 45-7. For how clean of a fighter he is, and how humble he is, and his overall record and performance, that is why he belongs in a "greatest of all time" list. You legit haven't brought up a single reason on why he is anything less. He has top tier ground game, only bested by experts, his striking is some of the best in mma, and he has done very well in bad circumstances, such as Shlemenko breaking his orbital in the second or third round, and Mousasi still destroying him in ground game and holding his own in striking.
@@ArthaxtaDaVince777 The stuff about guns and roses does not function in anyway as an analogy. Being top tier requires you to beat the other top fighters consistently. Mousasi has never done this at any point in his career, Being well rounded and having longevity does not make you great it makes you a top quality gatekeeper. "Gegard is top tier, he has never lost to low tier opponents, his only loses have been against top contender's and almost every time he had come back and defeated them in a rematch" Once. He had a rematch and won once, against Hall who is not a top tier middleweight. Why do you feel compelled to lie about his record. If you want to be honest about his record you would admit how padded it is. The two best wins being a completely inconclusive stoppage against Weidman and the KO of Jacare who dealt with him comprehensively in the rematch. " so he is easily a top fighter today." he isn't fighting the top middleweights anymore though is he? He is fighting fighters like shlemenko and Lovato who give him all he can handle despite neither one of them being top tier in any way. The other top middleweights have to maintain this ranking by fighting each other. Mousasi isn't doing that. " If you don't underrate him, then how can you claim he part of the upper-middle pack?" That is simply where he deserves to be rated, all there is to it. "That's ironic, upper-middle is usually fighters with barely positive win/loss ratios, whereas Gegard has a record of 45-7." Because it's padded. His UFC record is 9-3 which is about what you would expect and is far more indicative of his actual skill level. It is in no way ironic, the word is simply of no relevance to anything I said. He doesn't warrant being on a pound for pound list because the things he's done in the sport don't justify it. Very few truly great wins, no significant title reigns. A great number of lackluster performances. And a crippling inability to establish himself as the top guy in the division he is in. Walking away from the organisation with the bulk of the best talent also relegates him from any serious consideration as far as current middleweights go. "For how clean of a fighter he is, and how humble he is" No these things don't matter in this conversation, they just don't, "has top tier ground game, only bested by experts," Right, so? "his striking is some of the best in mma, and he has done very well in bad circumstances, such as Shlemenko breaking his orbital in the second or third round, and Mousasi still destroying him in ground game and holding his own in striking." And so what? He has an elite skillset. Good for him, shame it always amounts to very little. I didn't actually need to offer reasons he is not on the greatest of all time list. Ultimately it;s because when he faces a dynamic threat he loses, always. Mousasi is a challenging foil for those trying to reach the heights of the sport. That sort of fighter does not belong on a GOAT list, because he simply is not in that group.
Carvalho really seems to have taken a page from Jon Jones playbook in this fight. They're resembling the Daniel Cormier/Jones interaction. This is of course smart for Carvalho to do.

'Setup up fake' is rather basic but very hard to defend against.

Definitely not the same manhoff of days past.
dude he was 40 at that time... ofcourse he not like he is in his 20’s.

Cormier ate like 20 hard punches and elbows after the kick and barely got KOd.
