First time I've even heard of Musky jumping a dam....That's incredible. Thank you.
I fish a local dam's outlet all the time and those muskies are always trying to swim up that thing. it's a big slope bottom style outlet so theres no way they make it up but its neat to see.
This maybe the best fish video I have ever seen. Thank you guys so much for capturing this awesome content. I have never seen anything like this with muskey.
I grew up fishing here and I look forward to this ever spring never gets old SO COOL.great filming guys👍
This is an amazing video. You guys did great work with this! The educational side was wonderful as was the video work. Great job!!
That was freaking awesome. Thanks for sharing this experience with all of us
Awesome video, they need a sloped weir!
Great job boys. Thank you for stating it's a refuge. Never seem to believe what people do.
Yep, there's a spot I know maybe 50 miles east where authorized people watch/guard muskie stopped by a dam. They are easy pickings and no doubt would be ruined without protection.
That is one of the coolest things I have seen! Can’t wait to see you guys snagging some of those bad boys!!
Michael Perez snagging?
Skilz if I need to explain that to you than your just not gonna get it
@@michaelperez9137
They already are. They have been since I moved here years ago and probably before that. It's disgusting. It's sick. And it's the parents doing it!
Skilz, you are correct. It is absolute snagging. Michael knows it is and it's illegal. Fishing is illegal also here it's a refuge until it's not.
When Walker became governor, he appointed Stepp in charge of the DNR. They the biologists, arborists (except one) and most wardens among other staff. I watched professional fishermen snagging 30#+ muskies at the dam, filming, then putting them in the trucks and driving away. I filmed most with plates, vehicles, etc. I was knocked down once and punched once on the deck. I believe close to 100% of mononas muskies were removed those years.
Love this time of year! So fun to watch them.
Wow that was pretty sick! Never seen muskee's jump a dam like this before! Then I Saw you guys had 999 likes exactly here so I made it 1k! Can't wait to get out on the water this year!
We have a fish ladder here in Pa on the Susquehanna river. I’m definitely going to watch the fish jumping here too. This just shows the power that muskies have
Looking Like Muskey Wanted A Pet EPIC I Definitely SAVED To My Playlist For When I Feel Like I Don't Wanna Go Fishing LOL GOD BLESS Y'ALL
That footage was legendary
Siskel & Ebert give this two thumbs up for great video footage and the support of Muskie's Inc!!
At first I was like jeez. 6+ mins to see a musky jump in the air? I guess.
I had NO IDEA, WOW...
Incredible footage I’ve never seen anything like this
Great video i am glad to say that i have lived in madison my whole life and have gotten to enjoy the muskie run quite a few times.
COOL!! Great way to get geared up for the opener!
Drive right by this after work, everyday. Was quite a crowd this year.
Every Spring I take an evening and go over to Wingra to watch the Muskies jump. So much fun, and you might see some real big ones. I've seen some that may have cracked 50". There have been some 50"+ fish caught on Monona in recent years. I've heard of a few real close ones on Wingra. Some nice fish make that trip every year.
Incredible footage guys! Thanks for sharing 😎
Sick video man!
I love watching this and being like “hey I’ve been there”
Learn something every day ! Great video
Awesome! Thanks for posting this.
That was wicked! Very awesome footage boys!
Very cool! Thanks for sharing! 🎣👊🏼
Holy cow! I saw this in a random video a few months back and thought it'd be the perfect place for y'all to visit!
Wow me and my family also go there to fish! Your catches are also awesome!
Amazing footage!
My immediate response was, "Awwwww..." when that one hit his chin on the dam. Hope he wasn't hurt.
This is ALL but cool!
They are trying to get to the briding spot which was destroyed for them!
Wow, see something new every day I guess. Great content guys, your content and presentation is top notch! Keep it up.
Thanks Eric!
That's one fish I would love to get off my catch list awesome content 👊
Wow! I've never seen that before!
Nice vid man! Question, if you dont mind. I'm visiting from Houston, Tx and I am going to be fishing these lakes next week. How's the fishing up there? Any specific lures for pike and Muskie you recommend? I appreciate your time!
Great, topwater and blades
Wait.... eh learn something every day. Thanks man
If you ever get bored of the cold, ice, and snow- head down to southern IL for pre-spawn musky in late March. Kinkaid doesn't freeze, and red rattlebaits normally catch fish. Just try getting there before they spawn, or the DNR does the trap-netting.
that was pretty dam cool.
Saw them jumping there this year! I live in Madison as well
Dammm thats some insane footage!
Sick!
Love it!
Is there an alternative route for them? Fish ladder?
Very cool. Surprised the dam wasn't made in 2 smaller ledges. More money?
Great video many people may have never seen that
Do some of these dolphins not belong in seaworld 😂 great video!
Nothing belongs in SeaWorld
Very cool action!
If your form Wisconsin what type of rod & reel is good for the type of fish we have? Is an ugly stik good? Or
This is great! I can't wait to see this year's video with the added feature. ;)
Awesome!!!
I just find your channel absolutely love it great content I definitely SUBSCRIBE! 😉👍🎣🎣🎣
dude thats so cool
Astonishing footage. I've seen Salmon do this no end of times on rivers here in the UK, but never seen one of our Pike do it!👍👍👍
Some of them made it!
Andrew Logan, hey bro.
What a great video 👍👍👍👍👍
Awesome Video!
That was insane, great video
Wow, Insane video! There are a couple weirs on the South Tier in NY where I am from where you can sometimes see muskie jump in the spring but not to that degree. You might see 2 or 3 muskie jump all day, that spot looked insane! Reminded me of the salmon run like you said.
I’m from western ny, where at ?
Whereabouts in the southern tier? I have fished there a lot in the past
@@squishwardtortellini2904 @Brandon Alexander Chadakoin River in Jamestown
@@CrayOutoors never been, is it good fishing?
Are they going upstream for spawning or food?
Spawning
Were these musky raised by salmon? I've never heard of this before.
Love musky fishing
Smoked muskie is the best
Awesome shoot!
Awesome footage! I’m still wondering why you guys don’t have a Saturday morning Muskie show. 🎣
Because we have a Sunday morning RUclips show! Musky tv shows get 200k views a year, ours get over 5mil a year. Tv is dead.
Thanks
I live here in madison, im renting a boat right now and about to hopefully catch some big musky today in wingra
Does this happen every year? Id like to see this in person
Yes- after first good rain of April
@@TodaysAngler Awesome. Ill have to see it this year
So have they installed a fish ladder here i hope ???
great footage
Very cool. Sounds like they're gonna try to do something similar to this again down at Kegonsa, dam everything off and do a massive carp kill. I really wish they wouldn't, just gonna make a low quality lake even worse.
Huh
@@TodaysAngler down the chain more at kegonsa they're going to do something similar to what they did at wingra with the carp kill
They are so beautifool
Why is there no fish ladder there?
Just think how many more would make it up to spawn if they had a chance.
Musky jumping 👍
Wow.😮
SUPER KOLEDZY - POZDRAWIAM.
Omg what a great video
Hey guys! Such a cool video - I was thinking about swinging by there soon to check this out. Any idea how long it lasts in the spring?
Should be one more window if we get some good rain here.
Totally unbelievably footage. Wow. Is that what they mean by ski jumping?
I went ice fishing on that lake in that part
I didn't even know musky did that
Used to ice fish wingra as a kid used to catch a lot of them get a picture and release 30 to 38 inches and som 40 +
Maybe a dumb question but isn't that horrible for the fish as it gets slammed into concrete over and over again
Def not the best, they heal up like their spawning scars
When is the best time to go watch?
Best time is usually around Tax day (April 15), give or take a few days on either side of it. I believe this footage was shot in 2018, when we had an extremely cold spring. So this footage was late April or early May. But in an average year, I think the best window is between April 10 and April 20
So they do successfully get over, so is it a river that dams up into a lake? May be a dumb question just trying to picture it in my head
6 or so make it in the vid and go into next lake.
Amazing
i Luv freshwater 'rivers' etc but they must be fish-friendly, I'm not sure what Muskies are, they're pretty big, look like Pike! here in the UK, I've watched our EEL population deplete in our back rivers year on year, we still have salmon and trout running after the rain or high water. Fantastic footage lads thank you all, from WALES.
Yes, they are a type of pike, the largest of the species.
Excellent
Muskies feel imprisoned in dam and need big open waters to live happily by the way there were many big muskies on the jump!!!
Cool thing is I used to live in Wisconsin and I have been to that exact spot
Sick!
How does this not have millions of views! Great video thank you for sharing with us.
To them, jumping a dam is a musk
Dang it my eyes started to light up thinking I was going to fish there
Saw you at the musky exbow
Break down the dam!!
Awesome video Lee and Robbie! Thanks for the promo for Muskies Inc as well. We try very hard with the help of Wisconsin DNR to make the Yahara Chain of Lakes a great fishery! capitalcitymuskiesinc.org
Years later, thank you for what you do! You’re literally silently loved by thousands of people, you’ve created endless memories for people that mean more than you’ll ever be able to understand, me being one of them. Thank you again!
I grew up fishing at that spot
Yeah they should build one little ladder for them to make it a two jump attempt. Them fish are so beat up from hitting that ledge over and over 😢
They get beat up much worse from spawning (bite eachother). There is no ladder because they dont want carp back in the lake above. The muskies don't reproduce anyhow.
Grew up in Madison and only checked this out once years ago before new weir was istalled.
WICKED.:)
Can you fish there?
