Fun fact, my only successful Minecraft raid where I actually managed to defend the village was when I built a one block wide, three block, tall wall, around only the central parts of the village, and literally only three villagers survived as only three villagers were within the walls I built, but it was a good siege defense and I managed to successfully win, even though the vindicators literally killed all the villagers who were inside their houses outside of my walls literally by the time the siege ended the population had decreased by literally 90% most of them were even killed by me and I literally had to track across the ocean to find another village in order to get back to trading, and for the three villagers that had survived there going to be within those walls I built for the rest of their lives
