Another fun fact about bacteriophages- if you were to gather every bacteriophage on earth and put them into a ball, that sphere would be 7 times the size of earth. Source: I am a mathematician. I've always been a mathematician, and I'm not mad as being the mathematician
Started watching this video and quickly realized this was the stream where I guessed the number of blocks in a game of Jenga instantly. I have never felt so powerful. Also I guess this is a game of Clocktower
Napkin math from a very tired person ahead: There are an estimated 10^31 bacteriophages on earth. Each is about 10^-7 meters long. So, total length is about 10^24 meters. The milky way galaxy is about 10^21 meters in diameter. So, 1,000 times the diameter of the milky way galaxy. The weight of one bacteriophage is about 10^-20g. So, all bacteriophages weigh 10^11 grams. So, in total they weigh about as much as 100 football fields, for those allergic to metric.
Question: If a Pixie is poisoned one day and does nothing to express their madness, should the ST overlook that since they don't have an active "if you are mad" requirement that day? So that if the poison goes away in the night and the Pixie target dies, they can gain the ability?
Ultimately, the answer is up to you as a Storyteller, as long as your players are aware of it. This is a rules question about the 'statute of limitations' on madness - does it look back retroactively at actions that occurred when you didn't have the ability? Edd's writeup on this isn't super clear, and the Experimental Characters Almanac gives only this hint of a suggestion: "If the Pixie player pretends that they are this Townsfolk, they gain the ability of this Townsfolk when the Townsfolk dies. They could have spoken loudly about being the character for one day, or pretended to be the character each day this game, or accused the Townsfolk of being a liar-the Storyteller is the judge of whether or not the player was convincing, by “being mad that they are this character”." This second sentence seems to suggest that Pixie madness looks back at the totality of the madness, and that it does not need to be upheld every day even when they are sober and healthy. So I'd argue that it also doesn't need to be upheld when they don't have the ability. But in your suggestion, I'd argue that they have to have tried to be convincing *at some point* before their target dies. So if they're poisoned n1, do nothing for the madness, they sober up on n2, their mark also dies n2, then no, they never had a chance to express their madness and won't get the ability.

Have you ever tried lifting something really heavy?
Avery, I can confirm that this was objectively a game of Clocktower
And a quite good one at that 🙂
I had an absolute blast with this script! Well done Formidable Plot!
YEP there sure are comments about Clocktower here 😅
Honestly, the bacteriophage comment sent me instantly down an ADHD rabbit hole. I haven't finished watching the game yet.
All I need to do to boost engagement is just repost weird scientific facts
Came for the clever Bishop-as-the-Demon gameplay. Stayed for the bacteriophages.
Note to self: just mention bacteriophages to boost engagement
@@CTBOTC Science facts are the new meta. 🧑🔬

I wasn't expecting a comment from The Great Sage Equal To Heaven.
That's how we measure weight in 'Murica YEP

Equating a weight to a football field is nonsense. Are you referring to a specific depth of dirt? Just the grass?
@@jonn3786 that it is nonsense is the point. I didn't feel like doing unit conversions after that.
Roughly the weight of the Empire State Building, if I did my quick match correctly.
@jonn3786 The distance that joke went over your head is roughly equivalent to American Pi.
