Austin gave an electrifying portrayal of Elvis. He turned into Elvis, his soul, his mannerisms, his voice, his voice, his movements, dancing moves, down to what he did with his fingers...
Totally amazing. He is sweet, humble, respectful full and sincerely grateful. No one deserves the Oscar more!!!

I know this is unrelated, but there's an actor or model who looks uncannily like Austin Butler in the famous Chanel no 5 ad with Audrey Tautou, titled 'Train de Nuit'. I can't decide who is more handsome! But I know who is more talented!

@@melissastruxness512 Alas, he didn't. I was so disappointed and frustrated! 😠 He flat out deserved it, no disrespect to the other nominees. They all, obviously, gave great performances, and I intend to watch the movies they were in last year, but Austin was recognized the most for his performance, even by people who had see every performance by the other nominees.
      That man deserved that Oscar!

I LOVE Austin Butler! Not only a gracious humble man but kind and so talented. Elvis is smiling in Heaven on how well Austin portrayed him and his life. I listened to a podcast of Austin this week, was so great to hear about his life and career. I wish him all the best in his career! I would love to meet Austin! This movie and his ability to embrace the soul and charisma of Elvis will FOREVER be remembered! Thank you Austin for bringing Elvis to sooooo many! 💜

.........Only 1 thing missing from this bio.........
Baz totally threw out Elvis deep Country Music roots, Bluegrass, traditional gospel (Elvis' first singing done in his family's own church), and Pop Ballads as a source for his inspiration & major influence on him. The film made him out to be just a product of the blues and someone who had no other inspiration in his early days.
Looking over Elvis Discography (lifetime of music) he recorded Country, Bluegrass, Traditional Hymns, (not just R&B gospel), and Pop Ballad Crooner songs were all there from the very beginning starting in 1953!
We now need to restore what we older fans knew many decades ago, that Elvis was not one genre, he was not an R&B artist, as he covered every genre of his day, and experimented with mixing all of these styles and creating his own unique blend of rock & roll. (listen to his Houston Interview about his music).
As exciting as this movie was, we are now going to have insert footnotes in our discussions on this film, because Baz had such a narrow vision of Elvis' musical influence. Elvis has been re-defined now, especially to unknowing newcomers who don't know the Elvis story, nor the all inclusive story of the evolution of American popular music.
