I LOVE our background on this song! Evette and I had a guest singer. our friend, Lucille Dunbar substituted for Barbara on this one. she absolutely rocks that middle note!!!
Buddah - simply the best 70's (Northern/rare) soul label. Only PIR comes close. Charisma Band, Bobby Wilson, Modulations, Mel Williams, Triboro Exchange, Norman Coonors, Paragons, Ebonys, Fifth Avenue feat. Carol Townes, MIchael Henderson, Jimmy Norman, Tony Owens, Cecil Holmes, Sins Of Satan..... and on and on and on....!!!
You said Buddah was the best label BETTER than PIR. The Ebonys were the first record PI ever released. They never made it to a second album because of internal differences within the group and Kenny Gamble but they also never had another hit either. Maybe in the UK but not in the US. I didnt realize they were on Buddah until you mentioned it because most sources just said CBS Records.
In any accord PIR was the powerhouse of the 1970s as a submarque of a major label. What they did hasnt been replicated since Def Jam ran the 1980s and 1990s in rap music.
Some sound systems played this in Jamaica 🇯🇲 in the 70s ...wikkid chune

+Gaberdine DeBeaudoit If you check Enonys dicog you'll see they recorded on both labels and others. Not exactly sure what point you are trying to make.

+Gaberdine DeBeaudoit Please carefully re-read my original statement and you will hopefully understand why I said what I did about the Buddah label.
