Wonderful Blackpool Mecca Highland Room track. I was Artist Security/Soul Room Stage Manager at the Southport Soul Weekends in the late 1980's early 1990's. I was lucky enough to have Lew Kirton perform 'Look on the good side' live in the Soul Room along with 'Heaven in the afternoon'. He even did acapellas of 'Skiing in the snow' and 'Whats wrong with me baby' in the dressing room before he went on. Brilliant singer and a true gentleman.
Lew's 'Heaven In The Afternoon' was also played at the Mecca as a new release in 1978 - although I didn't hear it there myself. It was just another great new release, almost too many to keep up with.
I only heard this and their other Silver Blue 45s in '75. Both my mate and I had them all. I'm actually very fond of "Living Together Is Keeping Us Apart", despite the breaks "spoiling" the flow for the dancers, the intro and strings are awesome.
I love art & muzik is art, especially learning of different genres, instruments, artists, talents & voices, thank u GOD 4 providing talented human beings with the gift & artistry of wonderful, beautiful muzik
Love ❤ this NATURAL Soul Sound for many years ago ktf to everyone connected to The hugely popular soul scene ❤ rebounding off the walls forever and I LOVE ❤ N/S forever and KTF to everyone connected to The hugely popular soul scene ❤ ❤ ❤
I found a copy of this a few years ago in Florida. I was not too sure about its qualities, but decided to give it a spin at Rolls Royce Barnoldswick. Must say, it went down a storm. It seemed to take off after that. I always love the intro.
