I know it's silly to be excited about that but I just started fresh water fishing. Been salt water fishing my whole life so when I achieve certain "firsts" it's really super exciting for me. This was my first time taking it out since receiving it, I wanted to practice. I've only watched videos about settings the knobs and stuff but today was the first day I got to do it.

I wouldn't tale his advice, you see how he unhooked that big one? Me, I pinch the barb with needle nose if it's exposed, and have a t-handle hook removal tool. That tool is essential for those situations, I sometimes have to go through the gill plate to get a different angle and slowly working the hook out. Slow down and try to envision how the hook went in, and work it out the opposite way, it takes patience and practice but you learn
