I am pretty new to your channel, and I have been binge-watching all your videos, hehe :) I admire your perspective and the way you convey your passion for art-it is so genuine and emotionally open. I can genuinely relate to everything you say about the pressure that comes with creating. Art truly represents a vulnerable form of self-expression, and it can be soul-crushing to witness other artists consistently producing work when you are feeling completely burnt out. You need to pursue that spark, that sense of joy that comes with each creation. If crafting whimsical little frogs brings you the most happiness, then go for it. We all need a reminder at times of why we fell in love with art. All this might sound like a bit of a mental dump, but I truly connected with every word you said. Thank you :)
I resonate with this video sm. I also draw mostly portraits of women and find it difficult to draw anything else from imagination.. and I struggle with clothing too and often feel like at this stage in the game, I should be better at that lol. and the crying over frogs... relatable
LOL the universal human urge to cry about frogs😔✊ honestly making art comes with so much struggle & judgement (even just internally) kudos to everyone fighting through the self doubt anyways🙏💪 we got this
Hi, I've only watcged a few of your videos, but it seems you strive to challenge yourself as an artist with the things you find the most difficult. I think that's absolutely incredible! As a fellow artist struggling with some of the same things, it's nice to see someone who is honest and dedicated to becoming a better creative.
Feel better soon! I completely understand the urge to create vs the fear of failure. So glad you shared your feelings and encouragement. I appreciate your authenticity, and your drawings from imagination are so good! Anatomy is a great thing to be comfortable with, I still need a reference. 🙃
thank u so much🥹❤️ glad it resonates i feel like its so easy to overthink everything youre doing (even smth as simple as sketchbooking) when honestly what matters is doing whatever you enjoy the most - tryna get that thru my lil brain LOL😮💨
watching your video right now and at the 23 mark where youre talking about the weight of feeling as though you need to be perfect... it hits really close to home. i stopped drawing and creating around 2020-2021 because the weight became too much for me. i wanted to be an illustrator since i was a kid and i loved it so much then i eventually lost all the joy i had from art because of that weight. i dont regret my decision to move on to different things (i dropped my admission from art school to pursue a different career), but everyday i still regret the idea of giving up. i've slowly been picking back up my pencil again, and even finishing some developed pieces. its meant a lot to me to start creating for myself. thank you for the words. they surely mean a lot to people more than just myself.
thank you for your comment❤️ I think its completely respectable to do something else for your career and still enjoy art in other parts of your life - there is so much pressure from every direction to do everything we like at the highest level and try to turn it into something big/"profitable" but something like creating art is such a personal thing that will stay with you through your whole life. Whenever I feel unmotivated to make art (which happens regularly trust me lol) I try not to see it as giving up, I'm just taking a break. Whether i take a break for 6 days or 6 months, the appreciation of art and the urge to create will always be there when I feel ready to nurture that interest again. I'm so happy to hear you're letting yourself enjoy creating again, whatever pace you go is perfect and beautiful in itself🌱
I feel you! I'm also in the journey of going back to draw more from imagination.... It was such an insighful vlog! You really put into words the dilemma of artists 🙂
I'm having a very muted day rn and I am trying to motivate myself to do anything and now I found your cozy nice Channel and im binging the videos and im actually drawing for once! Thx so much I love your vibe
