The Battle of Talas in 751 was a major turning point in the spread of Islam among the Turks. two enormous empires were spreading across Asia from opposite directions. From the east, Tang China was the largest empire in East Asia since the Han Dynasty fell in the 3rd century. From the west, the Abbasid’s had just recently gained power from the Umayyads, and was now expanding across the Middle East, from North Africa into Central Asia. The armies of these two empires clashed. After five days of battle, the Chinese are heavily defeated due to the defection of the Karluk Turk mercenaries in favour of the Abbasid.

Turkic culture is a tribal society and when a leader accepts islam so did the people who follows the Leader but that’s not necessarily they all know a lot. The transformation of Turkic culture just like it happened in Arabian desert all thanks to the great Ustadh of the turkic people Khoja Ahmet Yasawi, he was a wise Sufi master and he taught the book to his thousands of students and taught the wisdom from the book to the people by writing the book of wisdom a poems collection that written in Turkic language, so that the people recite the poems and learned about tawhid, dhikr, prophet( peace and blessings be upon him), all the stories, laws and righteousness. Later his students went all over the steppes and spreads his teachings, this was a revolutionary vision of dawah even today. Allah give us the book and the wisdom but he also give wisdom to all the nations through wise people like Lukhman, Turkic people was one of kind nations that never worshipped idols, they believed one God/Tengr, similar concept of heaven and hell, righteousness, banned pigs from their land, women’s rights are protected etc. a lot of common grounds so he kept all the tradition that is not contradicted by the book and sunbath. Turkic people has a oral tradition of reciting heroic poetry and they will listen wise words even if it’s comes out from a ten years old sheshen/orator, often young wise orators will become the members Biler kengesi/counsel of judges which part of the the Jaqsar/good people the society, thet are the Khan, Sultans, Bi-Sheshender/judges-orators, Batyrlar/heroes, жыршылар/Dastan poets and craftsmen so on. So Yasawi Baba chooses the wise judges/orators and жыршылар/Dastan poets( type of poets who specialized in heroic poetry, later they also carried жыр-терме/songs-dastan about religious doctrine) to carry the messages to the masses, he also knew that the people with knowledge might get corrupt so that might give a bad press on the religion itself, so he kept the teachings of the books in the madrasah. He also taught a lot of womens which let him criticized by a lot of Persian Arabic scholars, the idea was mens always outside and tarbiyah of the children should be carried by the mothers. This how he succeeded in his dawah by transforming the Turkic society without any deviation. As many of you know later the cites like Bukhara, Samarkand and Tashkent became the place of knowledge and steppes become a place of wisdom. Today Central Asia became a place for western style preaching which the anyone who he has not mastered the language and books who we call literalist trying to teach what they memorized without knowing of any wisdom from the books and that’s how the radical groups dividing the people of wisdom, instead of literalist preaching we should go back to the way of Yasawi Baba, so the people could awaken from their spirits and then learn about the books themselves. Sadly many Turks today are outside the fold of the religion, doesn’t mean they aren’t Muslim. Many Turks describe themselves as ‘not religious’ or ‘do not adhere’. May Allah guide our Turkish brothers and sister back to The Deen.

But your religious Anatolians vastly outnumber your urban people who live closer to the coasts. Not to mention even in the coastal cities the Anatolians are starting to outnumber the locals due to migration.

And when Our clear revelations are recited to them, those who do not hope to meet Us say, “Bring a Quran other than this, or change it.” Say, “It is not for me to change it of my own accord. I only follow what is revealed to me. I fear, if I disobeyed my Lord, the torment of a terrible Day.”
And if you pay heed to the majority of those on the earth, they will lead you astray from God’s way. They follow only conjecture (not knowledge), and they themselves do nothing but make guesses (they pronounce and act according to their fancies, selfish interests, and personal value judgments)
He sends down the angels with revelation by His command to whoever He wills of His servants, ˹stating:˺ “Warn ˹humanity˺ that there is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except Me, so be mindful of Me ˹alone˺.”

مُطِرْنَا بِفَضْلِ اللَّهِ وَرَحْمَتِهِ
It has rained by the bounty of Allah and His mercy
رَبَّنَا تَقَبَّلْ مِنَّآ ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ, رَبَّنَا وَاجْعَلْنَا مُسْلِمَيْنِ لَكَ وَمِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِنَآ أُمَّةً مُّسْلِمَةً لَّكَ وَأَرِنَا مَنَاسِكَنَا وَتُبْ عَلَيْنَآ ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ
"Our Rabb (Lord), accept [this] from us. Indeed You are the Hearing, the Knowing." "Our Rabb (Lord), and make us Muslims [in submission] to You and from our descendants a Muslim nation [in submission] to You. And show us our rites and accept our repentance. Indeed, You are the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful."❤
رَبَّنَا أَخْرِجْنَا مِنْ هَٰذِهِ الْقَرْيَةِ الظَّالِمِ أَهْلُهَا وَاجْعَلْ لَنَا مِنْ لَدُنْكَ وَلِيًّا وَاجْعَلْ لَنَا مِنْ لَدُنْكَ نَصِيرًا
"Our Rabb (Lord), take us out of this city of oppressive people and appoint for us from Yourself a protector and appoint for us from Yourself a helper"
رَبَّنَا آمَنَّا فَاكْتُبْنَا مَعَ الشَّاهِدِينَ
"Our Rabb (Lord), we have believed, so register us among the witnesses."
رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَآ أَنْفُسَنَا وَإِنْ لَّمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخٰسِرِينَ
"Our Rabb (Lord), we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers."
رَبَّنَا لَا تَجْعَلْنَا مَعَ الْقَوْمِ الظّٰلِمِينَ
"Our Rabb (Lord), do not place us with the wrongdoing people."
رَبَّنَا افْتَحْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ قَوْمِنَا بِالْحَقِّ وَأَنْتَ خَيْرُ الْفٰتِحِينَ
"Our Rabb (Lord), decide between us and our people in truth, and You are the best of those who give decision."

As a young Turk, it is important to point out this; Atheism is spreading rapidly in Turkey, and the majority of people who call themselves Muslims do not care about religious rules. I have always been a person who performs the 5 daily prayers throughout my life, but I have never had a friend around me who does this (I do not live in an area where atheists are the majority). I don't know if I believe in Islam anymore either, I continue to research and although I am afraid that this religion, which I have followed every rule of for years, will turn out to be a fairy tale, I think it will get there. I don't think there will be Islam in Turkey's future.
If you have doubts, please reach out to people who are well educated in the deen.
Instead of entertaining these doubts, please continue to do research and keep learning.
Make no mistake, these doubts are from shaytaan. So seek refuge in Allah from the whisperings of the shayateen.

Cengiz Han was living with Turks that is why they got a lot from the Turks. A big chunck of west going armies were consisted of Turks. Even his title Cengiz is Turkish.
