धन्यवाद। What you explained in just 31 minutes and thirty six seconds would have taken at least a week, if I had to read it. Kudos to the author of this research work. Just one word for the orator - It's निर्विकल्प समाधि/ nirvikalpa samādhi and not "samadhi".

I feel after reading gospel of sri ramakrishna and biography of swami vivekananda and sri adi shankaracharya.
Shankaracharya had subtley taught vijnana vedanta only but scholars did interpret in a different way.
If you see and understand words like mithya and sat and asat.

Modern Vedanta, instead of resting on something new, rests solely on finding clever ways in which Shankara can be disregarded from the basis of this perennial philosophy. Most of the misinterpretation arises from this word "mithya," which in modern evolved Hindi has become synonymous with "illusion" rather than the technical sense in which Shankara used it.
Shankara used three precise words: "Sat," "Asat," and "Mithya." Importantly, "Asat" and "Mithya" were not synonymous in Shankara's philosophy! But modern propagandist Vedantins only point out "Sat" and "Mithya" from the original trifecta. With general people already conditioned to the intuitive connotation of "Mithya" as illusion, they can easily rally Shankara's position as world-negating. The moment these modern Vedantins start using "Asat" and "Mithya," their propaganda will fall apart as people ask for precise distinctions between them, which they hitherto thought were synonymous in regional and everyday language.
"Sat" means the real, which is ever-existent (it doesn't come into or go out of existence in the past, present, or future).
"Asat" means non-existent and illusory-something that has never come into existence, like the child of a barren woman.
"Mithya" is a dependent appearance; for example, a pot as a form is "mithya," but as clay, it is "Sat." However, the pot as an elephant is "Asat" (unreal). This is similar to Plato's "name and form" and "dependent origination" in Buddhism.
Shankara stated Brahman to be "Sat" (real), ego to be "Asat" (unreal/illusion), and "Jiva" (individual soul) and "Jagat" (phenomenal world) to be "Mithya" (not true as independent, separate existence other than the underlying, independent substratum-Brahman).
Another thing modern Vedantins do is cleverly introduce new superlatives of already existing terms, such as "Vijnani" being portrayed as superior to "Jnani," or "Parabrahman" being seen as something even beyond Brahman. Though Shankara never used the term "Parabrahman," he precisely stated Brahman to be both transcendent and immanent. Modern Vedantins cleverly reduce Brahman to mean only the immanent aspect and then introduce modified superlatives like "Parabrahman" to mean "transcendent absolute Brahman." This "Parabrahman" would appear as if there's something beyond Brahman, but upon close scrutiny, it is merely a word jumble. It is the same as the "transcendent absolute" aspect of Shankara's Brahman-a ploy to present their position as seemingly new and separate from Shankara's. I won't be surprised if new superlatives like "MahaVijnani" or "ParaParaBrahman" are introduced in the future just to make their position appear distinct and novel compared to Shankara's. The world-negating view rests on modern Vedantins' philosophy rather than Shankara's.
Now talking about Bhakti: Bhakti should be rooted in wisdom rather than wisdom rooted in Bhakti, as the latter becomes dangerous and superstitious. Ramakrishna and Vivekananda could see and experience Brahman in personal forms like Kali, but this doesn't mean everyone can. For the general public, this would give rise to idolatry, superstition, and violence based on the personalism of particular gods, as has been evident in India. Therefore, the general public should ascend from wisdom as the foundation and then base their Bhakti on a rational 'nd real experiential basis.
Bhakti without the basis of wisdom is superstition. Let's say if 2-3 Bhaktas out of 100 attain wisdom based on Bhakti while the rest 98 rely on superstition, those 98 would cause more harm than the few could counteract. Personal god religions have caused the most killings due to this shortcoming. This is why Buddha's position is secure; he never took the position of Bhakti yet displayed qualities of compassion and love for all beings-more noble than a devotee's love for a personal god.
Shankara's position is balanced as he rooted Bhakti in non-dual wisdom, eliminating the danger of irrational, superstition-prone standalone Bhakti. An Advaitin worships Shakti, Vishnu, and Shiva without conflict because their Bhakti is rooted in wisdom. In contrast, Shakti, Vishnu, and Shiva worshippers often feud with each other and disregard the impersonal, attributeless aspect of Brahman. Ironically, Bhaktas are often more "narrower" in their views compared to Advaitins like Shankara, who embraced both the impersonal and personal aspects of God.
Advaitins have no problem worshipping Shakti, Shiva, or Vishnu, but the converse is generally not true.

The pot as you said is simply an appearance.
It’s not exactly real, is it?
Most traditional non-dualists don’t take the body/mind/persona seriously, as they call it an appearance/illusion/unreal.
This leads to a lot of suppression in the character.
The shadow remains unexplored, which leads to a lot of problems in the this apparent world of shapes and forms.
I feel this video points precisely to that aspect of Traditional Advaita.
And as it rightly said, traditional Advaita is dry.
It lacks heart, and hence has to be mixed with Bhakti.
It’s not superior to Bhakti, nor is it inferior.
But like Shiva and Shakti, they go hand in hand.
Fire and its ability to burn.

Beautifully expressed. The only thing I want to share is that most people regard Adi Shankaracharya as a philosopher or scholar. But he (refering to the way we know him) is a Guru. He is a true teacher of Advaita Vedanta, even if he lived thousands of years ago. If a seeker of truth regards Shankaracharya as his/her personal Guru, he will take that form for that person and his/her path will be what Shankaracharya, as a personal Guru, deems appropriate to every stage of that person's needs. Shankaracharya can bring bhakti or jnana or whatever is needed for self-realization. His teachings may appear "dry" for most people because they want to go through this process only by means of intellectual juggling. For those who are open to go beyond the conditioning of this world, Shankaracharya will become a true Guru.

Love is the shadow of wisdom,a self realised ,what ever the name may be jnani or vignani they work in differnt ways of love .Shankaracharyas' work continues to help people in spirtual journey ,which is indeed a service.A realised being living in society conducting regular duties is already helping by following dharma, which is devoid of hate and prejudice .The actions of love are nothing but bhakthi yoga,as a true devotee like vivekanandha never asks self centerend wish to Maa kali so is a person in the path of love perform duties without expectactions.

Totally agree. The universe in its current state is all the playground of Maya. Only when this universe will be dissolved then the Brahm will be available in its true from but obviously we won't be there in our current form in that state so we only have to realise the Brahm by understanding how Maya aries from the same.

On the wheel of life, it seems there are many spokes leading to the One Center. Perhaps peculiar individual units of the One Consciousness have their own peculiar path, or perhaps it's merely a cloud upon the sanctuary and were having this grand dream in Maya. The only thing I know, is I don't.

No, the real ignorance is the perception you have that gives it the power to bother you. Abundance is everyone's birthright... even spiritual teachers have to make a living dummy. If it weren't for ads.... you wouldn't have access to this knowledge for free.... obviously. This capitalist system is the best thing that ever happened to humanity and you'd realize that if you chose to percieve it as it is... neither good nor bad. The system itself is unbiased, it is how it's used which determines that... so don't resent the system just because you don't know how to make it work for you, instead of you working for it, due to a simple lack of understanding and perception, it's not the system's fault that you haven't made yourself knowledgeable on how to use it to your benefit. Your comment is obviously coming from a place of resentment, but if you're feeling left behind, the only one to blame is yourself and the perception you choose to feel victim to, which blocks all other possibilities for you.... your mind has locked itself into a narrow box because you've chosen to identify with a victimhood, resentful perception, all other potential has automatically been limited by your identification with a limited perception. If it weren't for capitalism we'd all still be in the stone age (capitalism is the only thing that drives innovation) because if there is no reward for such efforts, why strive for anything. Instead... we have forced air furnaces, AC, running water, toilets, smart phones, smart TVs, touch screens, internet! etc. All due to capitalism. So if you like your current, comfortable, easy standard of living... you can thank capitalism for that. A smart person would see it for what it is, an innovation driver, and learn how to use all the capitalist tools which are at their disposal for their benefit, instead of stagnating in resentment about it, which only harms yourself. If you chose to see capitalism as the blessing that it is.... it's likely that your whole world would change due to a simple shift in perception about it. It's here for everyone's benefit and every single thing that you enjoy in life is due to it, lest we'd still be hunting and gathering in makeshift portable structures, spending every waking moment of every day just on survival alone. Is that what you'd rather have!? I think not. This is the best humans have ever had it in terms of ease of survival and abundance. Your perception couldn't be any less accurate.
