This show could have been so much better. With better writing, a few different actors, Code Red could have been so much better. After the success of Emergency! and what it did for the Los Angeles County Fire Department, the Los Angeles City Fire Department was all in for a show, with filming done at Fire Station 49 with the Fireboat and helicopter, along with a Task Force. As a kid, I loved this show but watching it as an adult 35 year later, it's quite painful to watch how bad the acting and storylines are.
There were four main reason why EMERGENCY was the better show. First, each episode dealt with several different rescue calls in every episode, and not all of them dealt with a fire. Some of them where also quite comical. Second, EMERGENCY also featured a paramedic unit so many calls dealt with medical emergency's. They also featured many events happening at Rampart hospital that Squad 51 was based from. Third, the Los Angeles County Fire Department dealt with the entire area of LA County. This included rural areas, and cities that didn't have their own fire departments. Finally, the episodes were just much more memorable. The plot of the episode was used to primarily fill time between the rescues which were the real stars of the show. All in all I believe EMERGENCY is the better show.
@@capacola262743 a Fire Explorer is what other departments call a Jr Firefighter. So 14-17 in some departments. Some have different ages that they can start. Typically they don’t get into what we call the red zone or hot zone. The area nearest the fire. They stay back and watch, pull hoses, get tools, re bed the hoses after the fire etc.
Terrific episode! Julie Adams and Ellen Geer worked on "The Jimmy Stewart Show" together in the early 70's for one season. They were mother and daughter-in-law.
Wow, I'd hate to be that Teen, he was originally facing a Possession Charge and now, he could possibly be looking at a Reckless Endangerment Charge, if not a Charge of Bioterrorism. Yeah, the Defence could claim Diminished Responsibility in that he didn't know the samples had been left out but either way, guy threatened to blow up a Hospital with a couple of oxygen tanks and an ignition source, which still makes him a Terrorist, high as a kite or not.
I remember this great program my late parents & I would watch this all the time. Is Code Red on DVD. I'm hopin it is. Thanks 2 RUclips channel showin reruns of other programs from 1950s 2000s keep up the good work friends.
Indeed-- while I can't blame Greene's character Joe Rorchek for being strict with Danny Blake (Rich's character), because what Danny did was wrong (forgot what Danny did that was wrong), it was the delivery that made it painful to watch.
they write Adam Rich like he is some sort of pre-teen pensive community organizer wise beyond his years slash Fire Fighting prodigy...again...you see why this one didn't gain an audience......so much of the dialogue and direction make no sense and adds nothing to the suspense.....its like there is a dangerous fire being put out by a bunch of actors.....there is absolutely no suspense....Lorne Green's acting is so wooden because the writing and direction are so amateurish....
I miss this show. It should have lasted 10 years not only one season. Emergency! should have lasted longer also. I think the USA needs a current show about Fire Fighters and paramedics. One that shows how thing really are. I would be in favor of a police or law enforcement based show that shows how things really are. This show especially good because of the fir safety tips at the end of each episode. I do wish you would have kept that part of each episode also. Thanks for posting these.
the trucks in this show look exactly like the ones we see during shatner's #rescue911 opening/closing speeches, and that's why this show seems cool to me, and i never saw this as a child because i wasn't born til 1982, and i'm watching this show/episode now.
Oh no....more flammable paper towels in the way AGAIN........this show is PAINFUL to watch but funny to riff at the same time.....the dialogue and direction are just AWFUL....
I remember watching this episode here because there is a Fella high on drugs or something, locked himself inside of a chemical storage room and he’s throwing bottles with extremely flammable liquids which caused a potential fire and now the fire department history called in to put out the fire and rescue this person who was high on drugs and get this man some help ASAP.
CODE RED was Lorne Greene's final TV series before he died. He was wonderful as Chief Joe Rorechek.
It would be nice to have a remake of shows like code red and emergency or at least put them on Hulu or Netflix's
Yes
The actual episode title is "No Escape" (shown at the 6 min 44 sec mark). It's Season 1 Episode 18.
The old Central Receiving Hospital it seems. Which is now the site of the Rampart station of LAPD.
emt5330 that is also the Adam 12 station
I wish that they would do a remake of the tv show Code Red

yeah, all it needs is better writers, better actors, better director, better camera crew, lighting crew, sound people, and a better premise.
@@pacetti07 Indeed-- from what I'm seeing, Code Red was ABC's prototype of what Chicago Fire and 9-1-1 are today on NBC and Fox.
That is EXACTLY what the LAFD needs during a Fire
....a kid in the middle of the way taking 35mm photos....
tommy Prado
He was suppose to be a Fire Explorer.
@@lindanwfirefighter4973 is that a thing?? what, they explore fires??

never see that coming
Lorne Greene is one of my favorite actors.
That one guy is the same guy that plays Mr Tanner in the show "ALF"
He made the show
As soon as i heard Max Wright speak i automatically thought of the old TV show “ALF” lol 😂
Emergency! is my favorite older show but this is good, too. It would be nice if the videos were clearer.
Mind also
I remember this great program
my late parents & I would
watch this all the time.
Is Code Red on DVD.
I'm hopin it is.
Thanks 2 RUclips channel

I have not seen yet on DVD.
Chicago fire is about firefighters that is the only one I know.
This really blows me back to when itwas new in 1981 Lorn Green was great.
thank you so much for sharing. I haven't seen these episodes for about 25 - 30 years??? Keep uploading for more
Iam enjoying this on a cold feb 6 2021 Saturday night after work
The dialogue on this show is just terrible, the script writers should have been fired.

Emergency is in Cozi tv how on Saturdays they play all the seasons
Check out “ Station 19 “ on NBC.
Chicago Fire & Station 19 are both good shows but I'd like to see this appear again on DVD.
Emergency! And Adam 12 need to come back same with Code Red and Rescue Squad or Rescue 86 whatever that show was

and it doesn't occur to you it's the SAME guy??
Great tv show. I remember watching this on tv. Do you have anymore series to upload?
Thanks for the uploads of this Movie
keep them coming
Thanks for uploading, its good movie .
The doctor operating on the kid is Max Wrighr who played the dad on alf.
18:01 wait the virus is able to spread through smoke, hell no! The writers were idiots the flames and heat would have liked the virus
and who famously made headlines when he was photographed in a gay bathouse smoking crack cocaine
I heard about this show, it seems like a knock-off Emergency!
Irwin allen does it again
Excellent just excellent
The program Code Red Lost volume
Este Show me gustaba Mucho......no me perdia ninguno de sus Episodios.......
Sounds like COVID-19!!!
every late 70s/early 80s show had to have a PCP episode. now you never hear anything about PCP. IN THOSE DAYS IT WAS THE NEW CATASTROPHE.
Oh no....more flammable paper towels in the way AGAIN........this show is PAINFUL to watch but funny to riff at the same time.....the dialogue and direction are just AWFUL....
i agree. it's so bad, it's good, like CHIPs.
anyone with the full season??
AR John I know just what you mean
Would that be the old Central Recieving Hospital at the 00:50 mark?
Thanks 🙏 kindly from Canada 🇨🇦 for uploading this great TV show!
great episode, but where are the #firealarmchimes in this episode that has a fire in the hospital, especially at the 3:51 mark?
The hospital administrator is played by Georgeann Johnson, who was Jason Robards's wife in 'The Day After' nuclear war movie (1983).
This is cheesy
that's what she said.
The code for an action needing Police or Security in a hospital is "Calling Dr. Strong..."
Not necessarily. Such codes vary by area of the country, among other things. At my hospital, if we needed security, we just called… security.
In the UK, the code concerning fire is "Inspector Sands"
He's flying the guy to harbor hospital? And we all know what that is otherwise known as...
I think it's time to return Danny to Tom Bradford !!
Funny I am watching this during a pandemic
awesome

max wright in a serious role compared to some of the flakes he played later on in his career
Lorne Greene said he hated working on this show.
He was strongly opposed to the casting of Adam Rich and the character of Danny. He turned out to be right.
He was actually relieved when it was cancelled.
I never mist and episode
"mist" hahaha. i think you mist a few grades in school, beeeeyotch.
Things like this keep happening there's no way in hell they'll be able to adopt Danny.
Is That Larry Wilcox????
Is WHO Larry Wilcox? No, Larry isn't in this.
Almost like the movie "Outbreak".
Lorene Greene played father rolls
ROTESCK
The title should've been LAFD, LAPD, And Hospital staff vs Junkie
This is a horrible old film. Quite boring
