I was really sold on the 12, but I actually returned it and bought the pro. The pro is such a beautiful and premium device vs what the 12 felt like. Just my 2c
@@nigelpineda3563 people talks about telephoto and skip the "lidar" , for now it's not a big deal but that 2gb of rams and the lidar for just 200$ it's huge
i bought the graphite, looks much more classier than the rest. pacific blue’s nice, but i’d get tired of it. gold just looks cheap, and silver is boring.
I think I'll be going with the 12 Pro 128 GB Pacific Blue. I've been debating between 12 and 12 Pro, but I am wanting 128 GB. By the time I boost up to 128 with the 12 I will only be $150 less than the 12 Pro, and I think the extra camera, LiDAR, Pro Raw, and better video will make up for the price difference for me.
I had a pro, but found the battery life to consistently be less than that of the 12 that my wife had. Downgraded to a 12, hoping the pro max has more battery life
Glad you had the option to switch to the one you felt was more worth it for you. Weird how in the video he says the pro is better with battery lol lots of differing experiences I guess it's a close clal
Yeah, the Pro has the same sized battery as the non-Pro, and with the few extra hardware features, you’d on average be getting less battery life. I don’t know where he get the idea that the Pro would have an extra 40 mins on average
You probably kept the brightness at its highest level on the Pro you had. The regular 12 doesn’t have such a high brightness level. So right there you’re using more battery. Also, maybe your wife kept her cellular signal to LTE and not 5G, because 5G uses more battery power. And lastly..maybe you just used your pro more than your wife. I had the regular 12 and went with the pro because of the extended battery life. And I also never have the screen at its maximum brightness.
I think I'll be going with the 12 Pro 128 GB Pacific Blue. I have been debating between the 12 and 12 Pro, but the feature for me is the 128 GB over 64 GB. When upgrading to 128 GB with the 12, you are only saving $150 off the price of the 12 Pro. And for me, the extra camera, LiDAR, Pro RAW, and better video are enough to me in paying that extra $150. I am in it for the long run and am planning on keeping my purchase for several years (heck, I'm upgrading from a first gen SE), and I can justify paying the difference....even though $1000 is no small purchase.
I’m thinking of replacing my 12 with the pro since I’m still under warranty and have insurance my 12 has giving me so much problems and I’ve only had it for a month
Had the same difficulty bro! the specs show that pro is 25 gm heavier. Today i checked it at the store with the case on and there wasn't super big difference between the two. Bought the pro today.. probably going to own it.. I did feel a lot inclined towards the 12 cos it's light weight is captivating. If you really want a lighter phone than SE and the extra zoom and 60 fps HDR recording doesn't matter to you.. Go for the 12 !
I currently have a XS, with two cameras - wide & telephoto. A quick ‘Smart Album’ in Photos of images taken with the telephoto lens tells me that I used it for about 30% of my total XS shots, so not having it would (as Chris says) be an impact for me.
Wait how does Pro last longer in terms of battery life? Don't they both the same size battery? If anything Pro should last less as it has extra camera and ram etc.
Question: do you think there is a difference between buying sim free iPhone from Apple vs. an iPhone that is unlocked and sim free using the Verizon link (also from the apple store)? One reason I ask this because the apple website says all the phones are unlocked. Also, because I just want to take my current SIM card (Verizon) from my iPhone X and put it into my iPhone 12 (if I order one) without having to start a 5G plan. Which option do you think would have the easiest results?
As for the battery life difference, I personally have no issue with simply charging my iPhone 12 when it needs to be charged; which for me is rarely, as I consider myself a moderate smartphone user. Also, this is what the apple MagSafe charger is for... charging the phone safely, slowly, and wirelessly, while it is in use. Plus the MagSafe tech is cool, mainly because it’s new and just something plain different that breaks up the monotony of charging and thus fun to use.
I got they iPhone 11 black 128Gb and I am upgrading from and iPhone 7 32Gb I didn’t need to get the 12 and they 11 is still and awesome phone it’s just your not going to get they oled screen and slightly better cameras and squared off edges and I feel like people often say oh they 11 has an lcd display so it must be bad wich is completely not true this is an amazing display and coming from and iPhone 7 there is a huge difference
i plan to buy an ipad... so i'll wait for the mini... if the mini is good enough, i go for the ipad pro. if i get the 12, then i go for the ipad air 4. im gonna wait for future reviews. thanks
As a student, with some multimedia requirements for my degree, I was lucky enough to handle both phones in a store last weekend, and compared them to my iPhone XR, to make a choice. If I owned my XR (I’ve leased it and contract is up), I would keep it for another year at least, because no real visual difference between it and the 12, other than the camera update, when looking at the screen since the IOS 14 update - and I used the XR cameras (and the 64 gig storage was fine), to make several videos for Uni this year, plus tonnes of productivity, I have been more than happy with it. But then when you compare the 12 and the 12pro - I agree, hold both in your hand and click on the apps most important to you, like perhaps the camera: the Pro has more setting options, and more detail in the image (extra Ram, extra battery, LiDar). But if you’re a point and shoot kind of person, social media scroller, normal productivity, these things probably won’t matter to the average person. My partner would freak out at the extra settings😂, he’s definitely the point and shoot (photograph) guy. If you know what you’re doing, you’ll appreciate the extra capability, otherwise Keep it Simple (KISS).
The other difference between your XR and the 12 is the transition from LCD to OLED display. Making for better contrast, proper HDR video playback, and better battery performance as doesn’t highlight the entire panel under the display. It’s also a lot more detailed due to the vast increase of pixels per inch. From 326 on the XR to 460 on the 12 & 12 pro models.
@@carlhuxley935 yes, on paper, definitely spec upgrades, but scrolling through each phone side by side to physically ‘see’ the difference, I was like... hmm, the XR has aged well! I’m grabbing the Pro Max because of that camera. I’ll be able to leave my SLR behind because of it.

Slightly shorter notch either side, and the edge to bezel is broader creating a larger display.
So basically the only real difference is the Telephoto lens?
the main differences are that the 12 pro has a higher pixel screen, more nits of brightness, and a better camera.
