Sidmouth is a town in Devon, South West England, 14 miles southeast of Exeter. Sidmouth is a beautiful Regency town, tourist resort and a gateway to the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site.
Sidmouth has a thriving town centre, with lots of independent shops. There is a large independent department store, Fields of Sidmouth, which has been on the same site for over 200 years. There are pubs, restaurants, coffee houses and tea rooms. Sidmouth is a popular holiday destination too.

A peaceful, quiet, orderly truly British place. And England is so beautiful when it's sunny!
Worked in The Belmont Hotel as waiter from June 1973 till November 1974 very happy memories
I visited it in 1987 and stayed there for a whole year. I lived in Sidford, almost nothing changed. It is still a beautiful city. I hope to visit it again and meet those I used to know.

Loved that walk! I hope Fields can stay open and beat the trend of departmental stores closing: they are a lovely store. If that was late September the flowers were magnificent especially after the very hot summer. Thanks!

Yes, it is. But unfortunately the Black horse is not the same anymore. Their Chicken Kiev deserved a michelin star in 1995.
Lost my heart to Sidmouth when I stayed there the whole winter of 94-95 supplying the rock for the two Islands in front of the esplanade.

What is Sidmouth like to live as I am relocating from Newcastle
We have friends who live in Sidmouth and they really like it there
@@TVJourneys Sidmouth are Seaton area I am looking at
@@jimmyoconnell6167I've spent alot of time in Sidmouth and have friends there. I prefer it to Seaton but it is more expensive. The average age of the population is somewhat higher too. Seaton has some run down buildings on the seafront but is having money invested in sorting that.
