My father was Francis Honey, VP of Computer Image Corporation and lead engineer from the beginning through early 1972. This ^^^ was my childhood in the sixties through 1972, when Dad left. I didn't see any, here, but they also did work with the Smothers Brothers, Sesame Street (Jim Henson came to our house for dinner, once, and I have two photos of him with Dad and the CI team), Electric Company, Frank Zappa, Coca Cola. Dad met with Ringo Starr when the Beatles were looking at CI for a film or music videos. Unfortunately, the business people thought they should ask for the moon $$$$ ("It's the Beatles!!!") and so the thing fell through. Dad would take us down to the offices for private screenings of their latest work. Those were exciting times ... Jim Henson, Smothers Brothers, Frank Zappa!!!
¡¡¡Wow!!! that sounds incredible!!, thanks for sharing your story, it sounds very interesting and it's nice to meet other person who knows about Scanimate and the legendary start of the Computer Animation
do you remember what time the Beatles meeting took place? could've been around 1968ish for yellow submarine. also curious if you've posted the photos with jim Henson
The baddest in the ANALOG animation world, If not the baddest. If only i could be in a studio to be able to create a uniqe and wonderful kind of animation like that.
This is a compilation of bits. The New Pink Panther Show ran from 1971 to 1974. I remember Dad, Francis Honey, VP and lead engineer of Computer Image Corporation from the beginning through early 1972, showing us the Pink Panther work. We used to get a private showing of the work he was most excited by before it went to TV or theaters.
That Bell Canada commercial, aesthetically looks like something that would not have been out of place among the flash animation ads from the early 2000s, talk about being ahead of their time. Just goes to show how cyclical styles are even with newer technology.
At a Website, i put "Computer Image Corporation" in my searcher and after a short time of searching something i found a page with recopilations of images, books, news and videos of Computer Image Corporation (One of the first or even the first Scanimate company of the history)

I immediately think of The Electric Company when I see Scanimate animation.

Hehe thanks, there is a website with various of these animations
The only thing here I’ve seen before is the New Pink Panther opening. Used to see reruns of it every morning!

The Timex logo is from 1982 (it was for the Timex Sinclair 1000 commercials), so this can't be from before 1981.
