The Google Maps 'Your Timeline' Feature

- Google Maps provides a wealth of useful information about places you've never visited before, but what about the locations you HAVE visited? If you turn on location services on your phone, you may be surprised at how much information appears in "Your Timeline." This video shows how to find that information online in your home gmail account.
At one time, it offered a street view animation of your trip from your timeline. I can't find that feature anymore.
Unfortunately the desktop version of this is being taken away from us due to the new privacy updates coming in december which is dangerous and wrong and most of you guys loved this version especially and would HATE for it to be taken away.
What if you look on your map says you've been in certain spot but you know for a fact you ain't been there tell me how do you explain that
out of curiosity who was that lady 2 squares below the top right corner?
I found this out on Oct 14 2020 when i typed in a place and it said you visited this day and then i started looking at my dad's phone for and my timeline formerly my mom's because she gave me her LG G6 Phone and gave me her account. The History GOES BACK TO JULY 19 2013!!!!!
This is possible if only your phone is close by or with you
it only asks me to delete my timeline but it wont let me see it anywhere
Is it possible to download timeline for a certain period of time (lets say July and August 22) and create a map? Looking to download and print our travel map.

You could create screenshots from your timeline and paste them into a document, and then use Google My Maps to create your own map based on the locations. To find My Maps, go to Google Drive, click New>>More>>My Maps. Also, you can download your entire Timeline using Google Takeout.
Imagine a single company having this much information about millions of people's lives. Unreal times we are living in.

They already have all this information. They just like to pretend that you give them permission now by opting in and turning it on

How accurate is it? Does it pick it up if you stop near a location
It does show your stops along a map path, so you can see locations you passed or were near. Specific names are given only for addresses where you stopped.
Asking... reason- my folks live in a different city to me... their vehicle is in my city for sale. But my dad still receives movement of his vehicle. How is that possible? Kindly assist
Who is moving the vehicle and where is it moving? That would be a clue. The Timeline movement data is tied to a Google account.

No, but you can see how images have changed over time and view past versions of a map on a timeline in Google Earth.
