  • Kingscrusher comes in top 30 in Lichess Summer Marathon - over 24,000 players competing
A chess prodigy, at age 13 he won a game which was dubbed "The Game of the Century". At age 14 he became the youngest ever U.S. Chess Champion, and at 15 he became both the youngest grandmaster (GM) up to that time and the youngest candidate for the World Championship. At age 20, Fischer won the 1963/64 US Championship with 11 wins in 11 games, the only perfect score in the history of the tournament. He won the 1970 Interzonal Tournament by a record 3½-point margin and won 20 consecutive games in the last seven rounds of the Interzonal and in the Candidates Matches, the latter including two unprecedented 6-0 sweeps. When the first official FIDE rating list was published in July 1971, Fischer was the highest-rated player by a wide margin.
Fischer won the World Chess Championship in 1972, defeating Boris Spassky of the USSR, in a match held in Reykjavík, Iceland. Publicized as a Cold War confrontation between the US and USSR, it attracted more worldwide interest than any chess championship before or since. In 1975, Fischer refused to defend his title when an agreement could not be reached with FIDE, chess's international governing body, over one of the conditions for the match. Under FIDE rules, this resulted in Soviet GM Anatoly Karpov, who had won the qualifying Candidates' cycle, being named the new world champion by default.

I am on holiday and my wife is visiting our son so perfect opportunity to play the summer marathon. Sadly it was bullet. I don’t bullet too old too slow. Then I saw this. Even better, for a couple of reasons it is only thirteen hours not twenty four. And I am guaranteed a positive result in terms of education and entertainment. Thanks KC and keep up the good work. Next comment in thirteen hours or so👍🏻

Hey Kingscrusher, do you remember me from the old chesscube days? Hope all is well! I see you've stepped up your thumbnail game, haha!

Nice job , ggs! Saw a few dozen, you play really good at this time control. Didn’t notice you make blunders despite having no time, if anything most of your opponents seemed to just go for speed, although I didn’t see all of them. Some FM berserked you and you won positionally as well as moving just as fast as them lol
Also really nice place considering you started late too.

Just reached the point where watching chess is more fun than actually playing it. Sad but true.

Hey KC. Really fun games. The RUclips algorithm has become very stingy unfortunately. I think you need a new graphics card so you can pre move faster.

Ok thirteen and a bit hours later comment two. What can I say. Wow wow wow. Thanks KC and keep up the good work is not sufficient here. Tryfon Gavriel you are a natural wonder. So many games. So many laughs great one liners. Is this correspondence? I suspect I have a slight positional edge. I think he has a positional edge. This one is straight from Karpov. I could have quit before the end but I enjoyed your masochist in the last few hours. There was much talk of Morphy. Are you planning a course. I have been a you tube subscriber and chessworld user for many years. I remember time for another mega exciting auto blitz on the ICC, but what first made me love and watch everything you have done on RUclips was the kingscrusher radio show the Morphy games. You are a wonderful entertainer an evil chess player and all round good bloke al honour to you. Mr. Gavriel.

12:40:13 He was eating your pawns left and right and you weren't eating his. I guess you were just playing the clock.

5:52:02 apparently forking the king and rook wasn't good enough.

At 8:00:05 relentless attack. Declined to take the rook which was offered, and instead held out to take the queen and then continue to attack the king. Nice checkmate.
