Devin, please consider getting a bigger tank for your Betta fish! Unfortunately, most pet stores sell the idea that they're a convenient pet because they can survive in tiny puddles and tanks, but that's a myth- they only survive in tiny habitats when they absolutely have to in the short term. He will be much happier and healthier in a bigger tank :)

Marzela Ledezma I guess it can depend on where you live. Where I live, I had beta fish and they didn’t need a heater for most of the year because it doesn’t get very cold here. I cleaned their tanks regularly and they never seemed to be too distressed. I just bought the tanks that shops advertised for that type of fish. I have no idea how much two gallons is, sorry XD We use litres here. I’m not trying to fight with you, I just honestly have never been told any different about these fish. Any tank I’ve seen that’s made for them is small.

I didn't know much about their care but after I got one I started research and found out that they are delicate and need a lot of care to thrive. It's in part fault of the pet places because of how they sell them. If you want you can look up some betta fish care tips on the internet and keep your betta happy and healthy for up to 2 years :)

Empty out the box w/ the glitter stuff (lol throw that away you'll never use it) build the laptop holder thing and put it on the desk Lol fly me out to the office and I do that for you xD

The fish is a beta fish the tank is actually bigger than recommended and the brown water is due to a special beta water so do some research before you hate.
