SHE IS BACK!!!! 🥺🥰 missed you so much, hope you're doing better
"There are only five books left" - the saddest statement ever spoken
the moment you were in a reading slump for the past two weeks and noelle posts a video and you watch it and after it immediately pick up a book again 📚 thank u 🍀
sameeeeee
Summer in the UK is going so great, it went, it’s gone, there is no summer left 😭💙
Too true 😭 nice 2 day summer though
summer in the UK lasts two seconds 😂
As well as in Belarus🌦🌧
People I work with are in total denial the UK 🇬🇧 summer is long gone this year 🤣
"Let's talk about myths, baby" is an amazing podcast for understanding mythology
As a greek person, here we say it "Kle-te-mne-stra". The first and third e (Kle and mne) sounds as an actual e, like we say "glee or tree". And the second one (te) sounds like "eh" like we say "egg". So it's kinda like Klee-teh-mnee-stra. It's probably a different pronansuation in english but that's the greek style! I probably confused you more!😂
I came here to comment this 😅 I’m in England and we use the same pronunciation as you
I’m always so happy when Noelle posts 🥺
Same
“weird” is an understatement for The Pisces hahah. I loved it nonetheless!
Yes greek myth is my current summer obsession too!
I NEEDED Noelle today, thank you 🥺
I literally breathed a sigh of RELIEF when I saw this.
ayooooo it's "kly tem ness trah" finally a use for my classics degree
AHHHH I MISSED YOUUUU, i love your hairstyle btw hehe you look so pretty
Sorry, but what does btw mean? It's because I'm Brazilian so I didn't and I tend haha
@@madusilva7808 it’s “by the way” 😌
Absolutely thrilled for upcoming mythology content, I was a Percy Jackson kid, so anything having to do with any mythology intrigues me greatly
I can’t wait to read The Man Who Died Twice by Richard Osman! The Thursday Murder Club was such a charming book for me, and I need that kind of bright, witty British humor back in my life right now. So happy for you to invest in yourself in therapy-I’ve gone at different times in my life, and somewhat recently started again for OCD and it’s been lifegiving. Hang in there ❤️
Mythos by Stephan Fry is an amazing book about Mythology. Get the audiobook for sure!!
And one of my favorite books of all time is The Gilly Salt Sisters by Tiffany Baker...a bit of magic, romance, family drama and and it's set by the sea.
Noelle going "WOOOW" after flipping to the author's signature was so goddamn cute. WHY.
CANNOT wait for your reaction to The Pisces….that’s all I’ll say 😂🙃
I am OBSESSED with The Siren! One of my favorites reads of this year, so underrated
This video was the perfect lunch break escape from work! Thanks Noelle 😊
I actually got to meet Natalie Haynes a couple of years ago because I was studying Classical Civilisation at school! I read a Thousand Ships earlier this year and loved it so much. So well written and I love retellings of the Iliad because i'm less familiar with it compared to the Odyssey and Aeneid. I'm just about to pick up another Natalie Haynes book, 'The Ancient Guide to Modern Life' which is actually non-fiction about how Greek and Roman life is still present in our everyday. She has also written a few other myth retellings such as 'The Children of Jocasta' which are also meant to be really good. I'd also recommend the Canongate myth series, which is a collection of different myth retellings from different authors, especially 'The Penelopiad' by Margaret Atwood.
What age do u recommend for a Thousand Ships?
@@nellwilliams5548 it is an adult book so there are some mature themes but nothing too explicit from what i remember. For me personally I would say 15/16 but i guess it depends on each person and how they are with reading mature books. I hope this helps :)
@@maddytrowsdale7743 thank you so much!
I just started Daisy Jones & The Six, it’s so good and I don’t regret buying it, hopefully it doesn’t disappoint me
Noelle posting today has made my birthday top tier
Have a wonderful birthday 🥳 🎉
Happy birthday!!
The Gifts of Imperfection... is simply the best. My therapist recommended it to me and I have literally tabbed/highlighted/written in the margins on practically every page. I hope it helps you too!!
I should be studying for my exam, but here I am immediatly clicking on this video
Also A thousand ships is magnificent, I'm sure you're love it
Oh i’ve been thinking of adding a thousand ships to my tbr! I’ll definitely make sure to read it soon.
@@sanazlol1723 If you like greek mithology also The silence of the girls by Pat Barker is stunning, it talks about the war of troy seen by Briseis
Those are such great books, can't wait to know your thoughts and more vlogsss! yeyy
If you’re loving Water themed books you must read The Awakening !!! One of my all time favorites and it’s a short Novella. Kate Chopin’s short stories are killer as well
The Pisces is AMAZING! One of the best books I read last year. It’s actually quite heartbreaking and disturbing, but it’s savagely funny. Melissa Broder is a writing goddess. Happy reading, Noelle! ❤️📚
YES. Girl I’m so glad you’re back 😭
I have binge watching your videos all week, so glad you’re back😭😭
ALSO, I’ve been reading Stephen Fry’s retellings of the Greek myths. There’s three books: Mythos, Troy, and Heroes. He is such a witty writer and he puts down all the references to the myths in his footnotes. Although 400-paged, you would breeze through the book because it’s such a fun time!
Instantly brightens my day. Gosh I love you Noelle and hope you’re well and taking care and alsooo love how colourful your bookshelves are. They look so bright perfect to go with summer rn.
I almost jumped in joy seeing your new video uploaded! So good to see you Noelle! You made my day ❤️

I just recently found this author Scarlet St. Clair and her series A Touch of Darkness which is a Hades and Persephone modern retelling and it is awesome! I just read all the books she has out and cant wait for more!
I had a hard time getting into it, strangely. I put it down and I'll try again at some point though.

I started The Pisces today, and I’m loving it so much! 🐠
Paused the video to buy The Arrest - love me some dystopia! Great to see you back Noelle ❤️🔥

You gotta take a book & beach vacation! It is always satisfying to read a book on a beach all day! I have been really excited about this book I am reading Sisi-Empress on Her Own which is a historical fiction take on Queen Elizabeth of Austria! Have been intrigued with her ever since I visited the Imperial museums in Vienna!

"im finishing a summer course and im not having fun about it" YOU AND ME BOTH NOELL, YOU AND MEEEE AAAAAAAAA
I finished my graduate degree last year and I am 32 now. I am still not use to summer being a thing. Only holiday I had since I can remember is Christmas break where I had work and school off. Last summer was COVID so I worked through it, plus I work in healthcare research so summer last year was incredibly busy for me. Then this year we had people leave our department because we were forced back to the office in July 2020 when no other university had anyone working on campus so half our staff left, so this year was all about hiring new staff and training them. Which, has finally happened. I hired and trained new staff and they are doing really well. I am incredibly impressed and proud of all of my employees. And so this summer I am thinking about finding a different job. I felt too guilty to leave previously because my job has been good to me, I have been promoted 5 times in 5 years, and I manage 8 people who I deeply care about. Now that I got my 8 people back to full staff and fully trained, I want a remote job working 4 days a week. Putting in applications for summer so sure, I am a summer person. Fucking University forced half my staff to pick their loved ones and their own lives over coming back into the office because our shitty fucking Governor declared the COVID doesn't exist because he wants to reopen Disney World and that means all state employees who work for state universities. Well Fuck him and Fuck Disney. I will find other employment. Currently my only summer plans. Sorry for the rant. I watched this after work and I have been drinking.
🏖🌊 Hi Noelle, I am glad that you are on the mend and feeling better. I understand it is a process.
But I could see that inner little spark back in your eyes.
Be gentle to yourself.

My husband heard the beginning of the video and yelled from the other room “omg Noelle” then when the haul started he said “wait, no joke?”

So glad to hear you’re enjoying Seven Days of June since I have that ebook on hold! I’m looking forward to The Road Trip by Beth O’Leary and The Devil Gets an Heiress, the second book in this series. It comes out tomorrow and I am going to DEVOUR it haha. Glad to hear you’re in therapy, hopefully getting help and feeling better! 🥰💕
