the moment you were in a reading slump for the past two weeks and noelle posts a video and you watch it and after it immediately pick up a book again 📚 thank u 🍀
As a greek person, here we say it "Kle-te-mne-stra". The first and third e (Kle and mne) sounds as an actual e, like we say "glee or tree". And the second one (te) sounds like "eh" like we say "egg". So it's kinda like Klee-teh-mnee-stra. It's probably a different pronansuation in english but that's the greek style! I probably confused you more!😂
Mythos by Stephan Fry is an amazing book about Mythology. Get the audiobook for sure!! And one of my favorite books of all time is The Gilly Salt Sisters by Tiffany Baker...a bit of magic, romance, family drama and and it's set by the sea.
I can’t wait to read The Man Who Died Twice by Richard Osman! The Thursday Murder Club was such a charming book for me, and I need that kind of bright, witty British humor back in my life right now. So happy for you to invest in yourself in therapy-I’ve gone at different times in my life, and somewhat recently started again for OCD and it’s been lifegiving. Hang in there ❤️
The Pisces is AMAZING! One of the best books I read last year. It’s actually quite heartbreaking and disturbing, but it’s savagely funny. Melissa Broder is a writing goddess. Happy reading, Noelle! ❤️📚
So glad you're back! I read The Invisible Husband of Frick Island. I really liked it! The Book of Lost Names is on my TBR. As always you have some excellent books that you picked up!
I’m sorry but can we talk about how well this video is framed!! I love the rainbow shelves behind you and also you just look stunning throughout! We live
The Gifts of Imperfection... is simply the best. My therapist recommended it to me and I have literally tabbed/highlighted/written in the margins on practically every page. I hope it helps you too!!
I am so happy you're reading A Thousand Ships!!! That and Ariadne are up there as some of my favourite Greek myth retellings, and everything Natalie Haynes writes is worth every word!!!!
As a teacher of Ancient History I was VERY excited to see you pick up so many mythology books. A Thousand Ships is amazing and the author is from my hometown, Birmingham in the UK ❤
Sweet mercy, I love your book shelves.😲😲😲😲 beautiful bookshelves filled with actual books & not just a few books with stuff for esthetic purposes are so stunning to me.💗
If you’re loving Water themed books you must read The Awakening !!! One of my all time favorites and it’s a short Novella. Kate Chopin’s short stories are killer as well
I just recently found this author Scarlet St. Clair and her series A Touch of Darkness which is a Hades and Persephone modern retelling and it is awesome! I just read all the books she has out and cant wait for more!
Just wanted to say that the name from Daughters of Sparta is pronounced Cleetemneestra (ee as in seed and e as in elephant). As a Greek, I found your attempt at pronouncing it very funny😂
She says the cover is so intricate and the first thing I see is a hand on the cover and I am screaming Noelle it has the similar hand of your merch! 🤗🥰
ALSO, I’ve been reading Stephen Fry’s retellings of the Greek myths. There’s three books: Mythos, Troy, and Heroes. He is such a witty writer and he puts down all the references to the myths in his footnotes. Although 400-paged, you would breeze through the book because it’s such a fun time!
Glad to have you back! The Invisible Husband of Frick Island book sorta reminds me of the Ryan Gosling movie “Lars and the Real Girl.” And the cover for Cave Dwellers is gorg. 😍
Ahhh I hope you’re doing better noelle I’m so happy you’re back !!!! I love all the mythology retelling you have lined up, and for me I’m most looking forward to reading the housekeeper and the professor 🥰🥰🥰
🏖🌊 Hi Noelle, I am glad that you are on the mend and feeling better. I understand it is a process. But I could see that inner little spark back in your eyes. Be gentle to yourself. Also great video, I agree anything beach themed ia always a great read. Xoxo have a great day
noelle if you want beachy/ summer settings i feel like you would love Float Plan! it’s a romance but i connected with the main character so much that it was much more than a romance to me! I read it in the spring and all i thought was “i wish i were reading this at the beach”
It's winter here where I live (my fav season!) and I'm in the middle of exam season so I'm exhausted... but Noelle posted so it's a good time to be alive ✨✨✨✨
You gotta take a book & beach vacation! It is always satisfying to read a book on a beach all day! I have been really excited about this book I am reading Sisi-Empress on Her Own which is a historical fiction take on Queen Elizabeth of Austria! Have been intrigued with her ever since I visited the Imperial museums in Vienna!
Green Apple is an absolute treasure! Also a thousand ships was great…definitely fueled my desire for more Greek mythology retellings. silence of the girls by pat barker is another that I’d recommend.
My day is instantly better when you post a new video, doesn’t matter what it is😭 we just went through a heat wave, I’m talking 115, hard to breathe, feel like your face is on fire kind of heat, so I’m definitely still a fall/ winter person!😂
My husband heard the beginning of the video and yelled from the other room “omg Noelle” then when the haul started he said “wait, no joke?” I watch a bit of book tube and this is his favorite channel
I’m on a mythology kick too because of you. I’m just finishing Circe and have loved it. I already have A Thousand Ships and I’m diving into that. Thanks to you
Instantly brightens my day. Gosh I love you Noelle and hope you’re well and taking care and alsooo love how colourful your bookshelves are. They look so bright perfect to go with summer rn.
On the note of mythology books, I would recommend Silence of the Girls by Pat Barker (all about the women in the Iliad, specifically from the perspective of the woman Achilles essentially owns as a slave), Till We Have Faces by C. S. Lewis (a retelling of the myth of Cupid and Psyche) and Mythos by Stephen Fry (basically just myths made super approachable). I absolutely love mythology and myth retellings - so excited for whatever project it is that you’re working on!
So glad to hear you’re enjoying Seven Days of June since I have that ebook on hold! I’m looking forward to The Road Trip by Beth O’Leary and The Devil Gets an Heiress, the second book in this series. It comes out tomorrow and I am going to DEVOUR it haha. Glad to hear you’re in therapy, hopefully getting help and feeling better! 🥰💕
Such a fun age - I'm about 120 pages in, and I am loving it! I got it as a birthday present from my mom, since it came out in danish around my birthday, and I'm hooked!
Hi Noelle 💜 so good to see you back! I've got a beach/ summer book recommendation for you, it's a French classic called Bonjour Tristesse by Françoise Sagan, it's a very quick read and the vacation vibes are unreal!
So nice to see your face!! I recently bought the Four Winds by Kristin Hannah which I cannot stop staring at - very excited to read it! I've added a few of your recent purchases to my ✨ never-ending ✨ TBR xx
My therapist gave me The Gifts of Imperfection, and I highly highly recommend it. I too had the "you'll do well with book assignments. here let me give you some"
@@user-qu8zs7vs1x Brene Brown's work has been really helpful for me in general and I've read a few of her books, as well as listening to her podcast. I also really like 7 Secrets of the Prolific. It's focused towards writers, but it addresses how to overcome procrastination and perfectionism.
The House in the Cerulean Sea. Just finished it and loved it. I am not a big fan of fantasy but this book was so endearing and charming and I fell in love with all the characters.
SHE IS BACK!!!! 🥺🥰 missed you so much, hope you're doing better
"There are only five books left" - the saddest statement ever spoken
the moment you were in a reading slump for the past two weeks and noelle posts a video and you watch it and after it immediately pick up a book again 📚 thank u 🍀
sameeeeee
Summer in the UK is going so great, it went, it’s gone, there is no summer left 😭💙
Too true 😭 nice 2 day summer though

As well as in Belarus🌦🌧
People I work with are in total denial the UK 🇬🇧 summer is long gone this year 🤣
I’m always so happy when Noelle posts 🥺
Same
Yes greek myth is my current summer obsession too!
As a greek person, here we say it "Kle-te-mne-stra". The first and third e (Kle and mne) sounds as an actual e, like we say "glee or tree". And the second one (te) sounds like "eh" like we say "egg". I came here to comment this 😅 I’m in England and we use the same pronunciation as you
I NEEDED Noelle today, thank you 🥺
"Let's talk about myths, baby" is an amazing podcast for understanding mythology

“weird” is an understatement for The Pisces hahah. I loved it nonetheless!

Noelle going "WOOOW" after flipping to the author's signature was so goddamn cute. WHY.
This video was the perfect lunch break escape from work! Thanks Noelle 😊
A Thousand Ships is incredible! I read and fell in love with it - it gives so many perspectives and the writing is beautiful ❤️
