Fascinating. I always chalk it down to the subconscious mind and it’s huge database of reality, some of which we can’t consciously interpret. And so when our conscious mind interacts with those areas of subconscious that we can’t interpret but that have been picked up and stored as information in some way, we see it as abstract figures and realties. Humans are storytellers, everything about life is storytelling, it’s the same stories over and over, and when we can’t consciously understand something we play it back to ourselves in a weird form of storytelling, with characters and settings etc.
Perhaps what we are picking up on are the subtle realities that fly around everywhere, for example we can’t hear sound like a dog but it doesn’t mean those sounds don’t exist. So maybe, somehow, our minds subconsciously do pick up on those sounds and it’s stored away in a strange story and can never reach the conscious mind under normal circumstances, even in its symbolic story state?

It's been 3 years since I tried DMT can't find a plug anywhere in my area. Back then, We used one of those vaporizers with the big bags. The first time I didn't do enough and I just seen shapes and colours. But the second time I managed to get another hit in before I got the light headed. I remember floating above the country side flying and then all of a sudden I zoomed down into a deer and went right inside of it and I was the veins and the blood and flowing through this deers body. It was very strange lol

Why fall into something we are uncomfortable with?some people dont like the belief in the supernatural but their repeated experience led them to believe in such because they were tired of denying it, despite the many theories their neurosciences provided or medical Explainations they were provided with despite not showing signs or symptoms that would make them Hallucinate or imagine things
      for them its... accepting reality.

They were to explain the unknown, create cultural cohesion and to comfort individuals.
What replaces this delusion is awareness to our cultural indoctrination and realize everything doesn’t need an explanation and a cause does not relate to a created effect.
The emotional experience is real but the cause of them is not what a person may interpret it to be.

I'm always reminded of The Matrix where being pulled out of it is like losing one's faith. What is outside of The Matrix is harsh and I understand that one character's deal with the agent to want to be put back into The Matrix.
I use to think people who didn't believe in God were just weak and wanted to "eat, drink and be merry" but after losing my faith it's been very traumatic.
I am in AA now and a big part of that program is a Higher Power. I don't have one to pray to. I want one but it's like being put back in The Matrix knowing it's not real. I don't know how to get a super natural experience that I can feel in my heart it's real and not just selective perception.
I feel like the ball is in God's court. If he wants to reveal himself to me that's up to him. In the meantime I have to keep living with this feeling like I'm missing out on something very beautiful.

I felt a lot like you for a long time. Raised Catholic but when I got in my teens and started asking questions the answered didn’t make much sense to me. I considered myself spiritual but my idea of god was not really intact. Last year I started reading Conversations With God by Neale Donald Walsh. This book made so much sense to me, gave me some answers that made sense. I have now felt at times I can hear God talking to me. Many Christians will curse it, probably the same who despise Islam (which is not the equivalent to Isis, which is extremism and not the beliefs of majority of Muslims) or Buddhism. The religion itself doesn’t matter and I felt that way before I picked up the book. I don’t know if this helps you, but it’s just my own experience. Best of luck in your search! 🙏 ❤️‍🩹

      OK, hope this helps.
I am a born Hindu, turned atheist and now back to faith. I draw inspiration from both Catholicism and Hinduism.
Tools that help you feel God again.
      1. Stories. Catholicism has some really deep stories about Jesus at the cross, having died for our sins. Such stories/parables when delved into with an open heart can really make you feel his love and presence in your life
My suggestion, read them and they do wonders for humans.
There are also stories of how others with far more depressing lives, have instantaneous changes. "the spirit of God" filling up their spines when they accept Jesus as their savior.
      2. Hinduism is both philosophical and ritualistic.
Some practices like Kriya Yoga have Masters in flesh who transmit spiritual energy to their disciples in real time.
Much like a first hand experience of God. The divine grace sits within the core of your being and practices of breath help you get in touch with this side. First hand experienced by an athiestic past self.
The ball isn't in God's court. He's always around you waiting for you to let him in.
But our minds block what the heart desires.

The reason scifi movies have large buildings and aesthetic or smooth surfaces or hyper articulate devices, is because they are all exagerations of what we experienced in our infancy.
As a baby we were towered over by adults. Our mothers smooth skin was contrasted by the rough surfaces of nature.
Our attention was always captured by the more animate things within a larger inaninmate world.
For that reason, a good scifi film is a film that recreates that comforting nostalgia of our infancy.
I cant help but wonder that if our uprbringing was less hierarchical and more egalitarian, we would then imagine Gods of a similar egalitarian view.
And we would not feel they were greater than us, but perhaps small fairies which befriend us.
The gods are just exaggerated fictions of our infantile building blocks.

It seems to me that there are many attempts to explain God in terms of the human mind. The terms "obsession" and "supernatural" are part of this attempt to anchor religion in something created by humans. In other words, the human mind is seen as the starting point from which to seek a higher power, which is the atheist's/materialist's argument - a man-created god, the reverse of the man created by God explained in the Bible. To the materialist/atheist, the idea of Spirit, God, transcending the material is a complete mystery, so to defend his perspective, he often denigrates, what he doesn't understand. To the Christian, God is Spirit, not matter, the Creator, the supreme Being to whom the Christian appeals for comfort, for healing, for an explanation of reality. To him, this is not a philosophy, a creed, or mere ritual. Christ Jesus explained God in a very personal way, as Father, caring for His children and Jesus demonstrated the power of God to heal and demonstrated how we can do the same. He counseled his followers to "heal the sick" and showed them how to do it. To the Christian, that which is fundamentally real is that which is eternal, God-created. What interferes with the quest to find God is the proud, the egotist, the arrogant who, out of a desire for personal power and influence, substitutes his own theories for genuine spiritual understanding and inspiration and tries to lord it over others. Humility, not domination, is the key to the wisdom "from above" and even Jesus, the most powerful influencer in all history said, "I can of my own self do nothing…" explaining his power as derived from God. The human mind is not a factor in true religion.

I have awoken so far beyond God-Realization that I discovered an entirely new category of awakening. I have become so conscious if the nature of love, that I have discovered an entirely new kind of love: Alien Love. This is nothing that any human has ever imagined or spoken of. The happiest day of my life is when I awoke to infinite alien love. It's the most beautiful thing I have ever experienced. My comprehension of love has become so profound that I have become Alien Love.
I can show humanity how to become Alien Love. That is now the purpose of my life's work.
