Such a fun day. Thanks so much Michael for including me in these videos. Learn so much every time man. and thanks for the canvass!! I gotta come up soon. ok that's it...😆
love all the wave shots, surfing, good friends laughing and painting...what could be better!? Both of your paintings were fantastic! Really enjoy these videos!
You and Ariah captured wave action with brush strokes, some palette knife work (which I love because magic can happen in a second or two) and observed color. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and process.
I really love the energy in both these paintings! I feel inspired to try a similar technique sometime. Great to see Ariah’s style alongside your’s. So much fun to watch surfing with painting and live vicariously through you both!
Hello Michael, I love the way you stating with base colors underneath and then building up with amazing mixtured colors to apply on it...and so quickly do that. I really appreciate that you continue showing your great picture, and take care of all your health as well.
Sorry to hear you had skin cancer. Lesson learnt. Thanks for the info re-panels - best to travel with different sizes and see where the inspiration takes you. Brilliant stuff as ever.😊
I always love your videos! Love your paintings. Amazing every time. Also again how you use the camera! Your explanation is as always superb!greetings from the Netherlands.

Both of your paintings are spectacular. I love the patterns and textures in Ariah’s. You achieved such a beautiful balance of color, light and energy. Thanks for sharing! Peace and love..Suz What ☮️💛
What a good day to see, you mention “ wavestorm “ at the end, 15.28 it’s just like that , The pipe at 2.40 , very cleaver. I think both paintings captured the heavy surf, and the video caught the fun , thank you Michael ❤️😎 , ( beautiful ) .
Michael , for abstract 14:25 you say, here’s what I ended up with “”( * with eyes midground center wave , to the right of canvas, and the closer ripple more to foreground a smile some teeth center of a mouth see witney houston, much harder to se eyes , one winked closed, mid ground, left in center wave with a closer , smaller pout type mouth Susanne pleechette, misspellings intentional , ( your painting set on a sandy curb/ cement, drainage grating near aqua at base of screen , I thought it to be interesting shade to texture) Face(s) in your painting, to the right , it’s larger , more spacing on anatomy, the left , closer spacing harder to be seen, yeah , I got to looking at the wave(s) , both are there, ❤️ love your painting
Thoroughly enjoyed the video with the surfing and the painting. Liked your approach on this - did you plan how big the painting was going to be? My recollection is that sometimes you take a range of boards to paint on so do you make a decision once you are there or have you planned out from a previous visit? Noticed no hat, hope i haven't put you off wearing one. You need one on if you are out in the sun that long. Fantastic video as ever. Cheers from a very hot England
I always have a selection of panels in my car. Ariah only had smaller panels so I gave him one of my 16x20s and I chose a panorama since I wanted to paint a wavescape. I always wear my hat but sometimes take it off for shots that I plan to use for the thumbnail. Painting without a wide brimmed hat on a sunny day is miserable. Also, I've already had skin cancer surgically removed once. One other thing I like about straw hats is, they smell good. It's a little detail but the smell brings me joy. It reminds me of days of surfing and painting at the beach.
Fantastic! You did a great job, guys! Cool paintings. In this painting, sir, I like the depth effect, it's amazing, and also all these different colors of water. Looks great. Btw. Now, it's pretty hot weather, so isn't the ocean water warmer? Or is still cold? Have a good one!
@@tinkerquinn8580 When you mix all the colors together you get gray. When I clean my palette it turns gray. When I wash my brushes the odorless mineral spirits turns gray.
