FYI, Samyang brand in Korea is not certified halal. The halal certified fire noodles are only being sold for export internationally. If you realised, the ones in Korea doesnt have the halal logo compared to the ones in US or other countries. Husnuzon I don't think she knows. Best to check for Halal certified logo or use google translate to check the ingredients if you're travelling.
I don't want to offend anyone or talk bad in any way, but i think some of the muslims that live in western countries take the halal concept too lightly, they think unless it's straightforward Meat or Alcoholic beverages you are safe to eat whatever.

They are vegetarian in most places I've never seen pork listed on any samyang noodles and I live in Germany It depends on the Manufacturer you are buying it from Seems you just got unlucky at the stores you went to 😅

As a fellow muslim sister here, pls pls check if the products are halal. I found out the hard way when i bought samyang cheesey noodles from a k mart where i live and found it contains pork. I almost hurled. Get the ones with the halal sign. I dont buy samyang if there is no halal sign as they contain pork. Found out the hard way 😂 also I tend to avoid Korean drinks and food unless I am sure they don't contain pork or alcohol or even meat that is not processed in a halal manner. It is so hard 😫 because i do want to try them all! I think they are some apps or website to check if products are halal but I'm not sure how reliable these are.
Okay, those noodles in Korea don't have the halal certification, cause they ain't gonna be sent internationally, but rather be consumed in Korea, so the certification isn't required. But those creams and more in the bread, alot of ice cream and so much more are not halal. They have pork stuff in various different forms
I was disappointed when you said the bread cream might not be halal😢. Because thinking commonly you wouldnt expect and pork related derivative in cream… like they wouldnt need to add gelatin for example.

Be careful when taking food and drink products, even though there is no pork on the label, Koreans always use lard and alcohol. And that is against the halal nature of the product. It's better if you buy it in Muslim-majority countries,Even though the product is Korean, it is halal.

We got our son to check with google translate when we were in Korean convenience stores. However in Busan we learnt that not all vegetarian labelled food was that as some products still had animal traces in it. For halal food try Itaewon though I wasn’t that impressed by Eid restaurant. Co-ex mall has a Turkish restaurant which was good. Even better, we discovered an Indian restaurant by chance in Insadong and honestly their biryani and chicken tikka was to die for. I can’t tell you the name but it’s on the top level after walking up some stairs.
Why is everyone giving the most obvious advice to a full grown muslim woman. Guys I think she knows what’s right snd what’s wrong and I’m pretty sure she knows what she’s allowed to eat and what she’s not.
I’m so jealous of people who don’t have an eating disorder and can eat pretty much anything I’d kill to be like that! Sometimes I go days without eating but still watch cooking videos it’s super weird! I’m going to try and make one of these recipes a week/biweekly to see if it will help her recipes look like thinks I think I would like especially her baking! It’s funny I love food but can seem to feed myself sometimes I think it’s a form of punishment for the things I’ve done wrong!
I've had an eating disorder, it was caused by stress and depression and apathy towards life. I found out I was severely deficient in vitamin D and K2. That helped me get get better with the depression and then later with eating. I hope you get better wishing you well ❤
you guys can find halal certified samyang noodles in your nearest costco or masala bazaar if you know about it, ive seen videos saying that samyang noodles arent halal in korea but internationally like if you find it in costco theres a small green logo on the bottom right of the packet that clearly says “HALAL” on it
Sorry but that samyang wasn't halal and all the non-halal certified Buldak ramens have pork in them. Also you need to be mindful of any animal fat, lard and alcohol in them too. I would love to visit a korean convenience store but my main worry is that i dont know enough korean to know what is halal and not. Google translate can only do so much 😅

I would like to kindly add sth to the comments about halal food. There are some food/snacks which do not seem to contain any meat or pork on the first look, but when you check the ingridients list, you will often find sth along the lines (bc i don‘t recall exactly) of that it could have come in contact with meat/pork products as it is made in the same factory. So I would definitely recommend using google translate, you can easily take a picture of the ingridients list and find out. May Allah make it easy for all of us! And ramen that is marked as halal in your country doesn‘t have to be halal in korea. for example buldok carbonara is halal in my country, but it wasn‘t in korea (didn‘t see that one myself tho, my brother told me)

I lived in Korea for several months, I loved the convenience stores but mainly for the drinks. The only food I’d eat from there is triangle rice filled with tuna (I believe it was halal). But I regret not noticing the cream buns as I would always go to Paris Baguette instead!

What kind of kimchi did you try? Im not a huge fan of cabbage kimchi (the main one most people think of), but cucumber kimchi is FIRE!

I lived in Korea for several months, I loved the convenience stores but mainly for the drinks. The only food I’d eat from there is triangle rice filled with tuna (I believe it was halal). But I regret not noticing the cream buns as I would always go to Paris Baguette instead!
