The civil aviation ministry under the Modi government is looking at developing more airstrips as well as calibrating regulations for major and small airports to boost air connectivity, a senior official said today. India is one of the fastest growing civil aviation markets in the world, with domestic air traffic on the rise and airlines expanding their fleet as well as operations. Civil Aviation Secretary Vumlunmang Vualnam said the number of airports in the country has increased to 157 from 74 in the last ten years.The ministry has reviewed the full list of 453 airstrips in the country and around 157 of them are operational, he said and added that more airstrips would be developed as brownfield projects. Also, efforts will be made to jointly develop more defence airfields for civil aircraft operations. Speaking at the CAPA India Aviation Summit 2024 in the national capital, the secretary said the ministry would look at calibrating regulations for major and small airports. These are steps aimed at further boosting air connectivity, especially to Tier 2 and 3 cities

Mumbai mein agar koi plane utar na paye toh closest & advanced location Nasik Int Airport hoga Pune ya Ahmedabad nahi for most of the flights except few domestic ones. Isiliye toh plan tha ki Nasik airport ko supporting or backup airport banaya jaye for Mumbai until the new one is made kyuki Nasik airport advanced bhi hai as HAL runs it & fuel bhi 15% cheaper hai waha. But like all good plans stays on paper only...

We, hindus are facing discrimination in this nation. Vedic education was unrecognized by government while still madarsas are state funded. temples have been occupied. We are not allowed to file case. Our idols are being smuggled , our temple wealth are governed by state and only they are taxed .Temple gives food, many hospitals are run by them and still When we through donations, want to build it people ask what temple will do!

In durgapur there was an airstrip constructed for the Russian to hit into the plant by flight but the aai decided to make an green field airport in the city and left the airstrip in its condition as nothing is there
