Beyonce's career began before she turned 9 years old. She was born in 1981, and Girls Tyme was formed in 1990. The next year Girl's Tyme was renamed Destiny's Child. So while 16 might be the name of the song and she says the innocence was gone at 15. That's when she left home, but she clearly was working way before 16.
i think you’d really love jhené aiko’s music. a lot of her songs are very vulnerable and relatable and a lot of songs are healing. she actually uses sound bowls in her music as a way to add an element of meditation and relaxation. the Souled Out album is a personal favorite but a lot of people love TRIP which is like an album of spiritual voyage
hi!!! i really love your therapist reactions of songs!!! can you please do a few of the songs from eternal sunshine by ariana grande like "don't wanna break up again" "we can't be friends (wait for your love)" and "i wish i hated you"?
I believe the 16 carriages are the tour buses and trucks. At first she says she watched them ride with her dreams away. The hard work she put into trying to make her dreams of musical fame happen all those years... Later on she says she watched them ride with her fears away. She has already achieved the stardom goal, but now she's heading into new territory to accomplish her goals of representing her heritage and respective communities of black people, women and the disenfranchised. She may seem brave and strong, but even she struggles with doubt and worry. And she reflects on the journey up to this point. She is determined to accomplish her goals on inclusion and trying to make positive change to the world with her music and actions.
Unpopular opinion: but I think her innocence being taken away on a “holy night” on a back road could very well mean her innocence was altered someway or taken…if you catch my drift. We are seeing how demonic & filthy the music industry is & seeing how protective her dad is now, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s because there was a moment in time when she WASNT protected…15/16 is usually when a young girl is the most vulnerable to predatory men…in a predatory industry! This could’ve been right around the time as well when the veil was lifted for her & she realized this music industry isn’t here to just help you make music, but will want something from you in return whether it be physically, emotionally, spiritually or sexually which also shattered her “innocent” viewpoint. 16 is right around the age when they really started to sexualize her as well…
Beyonce at this point has lived 78 lifetimes and has taken the wisdom from all of them
You gotta check out the whole album, specially Daughter, Bodyguard and Jolene
